25+ Cinnaminson Pirates bring home NJIBL Fall title

The Cinnaminson Pirates of the 25+ NJIBL Fall League, went 7-3 in the regular season. They won both the playoff game and championship game in walk off fashion.

The team chose to represent the moniker of the township because 6 players on the roster are coaches within Cinnaminson Baseball. 2013 Cooperstown Coach Lenny Colfer; 2012 10u coaches Jeff Caccese, Mike Chambers and Bill Prendergast; 2012 14u AAU coach Dan Mackafee, and jack of all trades Big Neil Spence.

The Championship game was moved from Cinnaminson Memorial Field #4 to the Glassboro Sports complex. Jersey Shore Yankees jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead, but Pirates starter Steve Miller settled in after that and shut down the Yanks the rest of the way. Going into the bottom of the 9th tied at 4 all, Mike Chambers lead off with a walk, advanced to second base on a wild pitch, moved to third on a single by Amit Shah. Dan Mackafee legged out an infield single to load the bases with 1 out. James "Ziggy" Agzigian hit a screamer up the middle of a drawn in infield, the second baseman made the stop, but couldn't make the play at the plate as Mike Chambers crossed the plate to give the Pirates the title.

It was a great season, we had a lot of fun, and we made a few of the kids we coach proud of us:-) GO PIRATES!!!
