CHS Interact student Alex Weitzner had the idea to make “Snowman Soup” as a way to participate in “Stockings for Soldiers.”

This organization, http://www.stockingsforsoldiers.org prepares and ships stockings to service members for the holidays. Alex and fellow students contributed the ingredients of hot chocolate packets, marshmallows, candy canes and Hershey kisses.  Interact printed the poem below and put it, along with the ingredients, into a Ziploc bag.

Alex and her mom will drive them to Delaware this weekend to be added to the stockings.

Students had fun, and created over 225 “Snowman Soup” treats!

 “With freezing weather drawing near,

You’ll need to warm the spirit.

So here’s a little snowman soup,

Complete with stirring stick.

Add hot water, sip it slow,

It’s sure to do the trick!”
