7-Eleven Opening Pushed Back a Third Time
The new opening date is still this month, though.
Could the third time be the charm?
Originally, officials for 7-Eleven Inc. said the new convenience store at Route 130 and Highland Avenue was set to open Oct. 24.
A few weeks ago, that date was pushed back to Nov. 14.
And now, the new opening date is Nov. 30.
But that date could change again, according to Margaret Chabris, spokeswoman for 7-Eleven Inc.
“The push back in timing for the opening of this store was due to construction delays,” Chabris said in an email to Cinnaminson Patch. “Opening dates are a moving target.”
If that date changes, you can be sure we'll bring you that information.
The store is owned by Lehigh Gas Corporation, a group based in Bethlehem, PA. It holds partnerships with several gas station companies including Mobil, Hess and Gulf.
The new 7-Eleven will not feature a gas station, however.
The store is around 3,000 square feet and will hold 18 parking spots. The 7-Eleven at the Route 130 and Riverton Road jug handle will remain open.

Construction delays? Really? There has not been anyone there since the driveway merge with Highland was completed a month ago. What construction of this place can be left? Unless they consider stocking the shelves with product construction, I can't tell what needs to be completed.

I think that is the delay. No one is there to finish the construction is causing the delay... lol

I watch chains like Wawa and McDonald's put up new locations in a fraction of the time this location has taken, including things like gas pumps and drive-throughs. Still, it looks to be a big improvement to that property, and we'll support it based on the merits of its business when it finally opens.

Speaking of waiting for things to open, what is going on with the new go kart speedway at the old Vanity Fair?

Val—do a search for "Speed Raceway" in the serach box and you'll see all the stories we've written. They are slated to open this week but I think it will pushed back to next week because of the holiday.

Goodness gracious, you would think by now they would have opened. From my extensive business experience if this were happening in Philly, I would say this is a problem of 7-11 not greasing the right palms. But of course this is Cinnaminson and that would not happen here.

When i had a construction firm in Philly years ago you had to take 2 envelopes to L&I. One for the permit paperwork & drawings and one for the money. True.
