Bathrooms Open For Business

After a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday evening, the new bathrooms at Wood Park are now open. The building also features a concession stand facing and a storage area.

The building was made possible by a . Freeholder Joe Donnelly, of Cinnaminson, helped cut the ribbon and said Cinnaminson and Riverton are the first two county towns who have not only been funded for this park grant, but have implemented their projects.

"In fact, they've both been chosen for the second round of grants," Donnelly said.

Cinnaminson Township received a  for further improvements to township parks.

Tim Profy, girls' softball commissioner, was also at the ceremony and said he's very proud of the new building.

"There are 400 girls, aged 8 to 14 in softball," Profy said. "I think there were 399 mothers who all had the same question."

That question was "When are we getting new bathrooms?"

The pre-fabricated building arrived on trucks last month and concrete, landscaping and more was added to the area of the new building.

Deputy Mayor Don Brauckmann called the building, "the final piece" of the upgrades to Wood Park. It joins the new playground equipment and gazebo.

Mayor Kathy Fitzpatrick said township committee has been concentrating on Wood Park for quite some time since they consider it their "Main Street."

"It's the final piece of the puzzle here at our town center," Fitzpatrick said.
