The township's public works department will be performing duel leaf and brush collection during this month, officials recently announced.
The leaves and brush must be placed in separate piles and be put out according to the established collection schedule. Brush and leaf piles may be placed out for collection by Sunday at the beginning of the collection week.
Once your scheduled week has passed, residents will not be permitted to put out additional brush or leaves. Residents who place brush or leaves in the street after their scheduled collection week will be subject to a fine.
The duel collections will continue throughout the month of November. Residents may go to the townships website here to see additional information including the brush/leaf collection schedule.

Oh yea, the public works cops will give out summons for the problems people put in the streets....too bad they do not get all the leaves and brush...oh well....thats life here

@phil, your guess is as good as mine, I believe that they started the cycle again from the first full week in the month...They were busy picking up trees that had been on the streets and now are back on the regular schedule....Lets hope this storm does not do any more damage to the trees and power lines....hope I helped

I swear they were supposed to go around last week/this week getting the post-Sandy stuff up. I know my neighbor put all his stuff out Tuesday morning because he had a ton and they're still sitting there so they obviously didn't do much post-Sandy cleanup they announced.

Week 1 leaf pick up would start next week in area 1 according to the 1st full week of the month schedule found under Public Works webpage content. Here's my two cents: why does section 4 have to look at their leaves blowing around their neighborhood each and every holiday year-in and year-out? Since we all pay our fair share of taxes and perform various community services shouldn't the leaf and brush pickup area's rotate yearly? Simply stated, why cant area 3 eventually be week 1 ans so forth?

Hopefully under the circumstances regarding Sandy, no one will be fined for having their brush out at the curb.A lot came down in the storm and many people used last week to cut and haul the debris to the curb as the original message was that the Township would be around to pick up the brush. At that time, it appeared that they just asked that you keep it separated from leaves.

@Bill, good luck with the no fines, how else are they going to get money, the dept of works people do not care about anything but doing there police work....they ride up and down the streets handing out warnings and fines.....I have a vacant house next door and the leaves are blowing in my yard and I have nothing to do but wait until its my pick up day again...the streets are covered with leaves blowing from the trees...what good is a schedule when winter determines when the leaves fall....oh well, we have to live with it, just like the over assessed value of ours homes....

Leaves in the street create high levels of phosphorus and nitrogen in our waterways, choking off oxygen and killing life in our rivers and streams.
Leaves and brush should be placed on your easement between the sidewalk and street. I also strongly recommend backyard composting.

@agent itchy, well I guess the township does not worry about that, they say to put it in the streets so what do U do get fined if U do not....I would venture to guess U would have to have a permit for composting.....have a great day
