County Offering Drive-Up Recycling
Stop by the Burlington County recycling center in Westampton this weekend. Just make sure you have ID.
Burlington County residents, this weekend’s your chance to get rid of a bunch of junk around the house without having to leave your car.
The county will hold a recycling event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Robert C. Shinn Recycling Center, 130 Hancock Lane, in Westampton.
County residents will have the opportunity to shred confidential documents and safely dispose of computers and TVs. Nearly 5,000 residents participated in recycling events last year, bringing in more than 123,000 pounds of documents and disposing of 170,000 pounds of “e-waste.”
“This event is ideal for residents because they do not have to leave their cars,” said Freeholder Director Joe Donnelly. “People can pull up and our volunteers are on hand to unload the recyclables.”
People participating in the recycling event are urged to bring only “confidential” documents for shredding, such as bank and credit card statements, tax returns and papers with account numbers or social security numbers. These documents will be shredded on-site. Residents should not bring already-shredded paper, binders, plastic folders, computer disks or plastic credit cards. Up to four bags or boxes per household will be accepted.
In addition to TVs and computers, accepted e-waste includes laptops, monitors, computer keyboards, mice/cables, printers, desktop copiers, scanners, fax machines, VCR/DVD/MP3 players, cell phones, game consoles and rechargeable batteries.
This event is for Burlington County residents only—no businesses. ID is required. For more information, call 609-499-1001 or email recycle@co.burlington.nj.us.

John, seriously? I don't often have a reason to drive to Florence, but perhaps when I do I'll bring my old TV with me. It's not like food waste which smells over time.
People complain about high taxes, and Burl Co is doing something about it by preserving the landfill for items which don't get recycled.
By the way, Goodwill in Maple Shade is the closest eWaste drop off in he Cinnaminson area so there's no excuse not to recycle
