District 611 in Riverton Will Open...

The new restaurant from Stephen Starr alums announced an opening date sooner than you might have thought.

District 611, a new restaurant from former Stephen Starr restaurant employees, is slated to open in Riverton Saturday.

According to the restaurant's Facebook page, its cuisine is contemporary New American (locally sourced ingredients, unexpectedly delicious mash-ups) fused with Neapolitan-style pizza.

District 611 is owned by Starr alumni Brian Baglin and Catherine Piotrowski and headed by executive chef David Perini (also a Starr alum).

The restaurant held a friends and family night this week but will officially open to the public for lunch and dinner this weekend.

District 611 is located at 710 Broad Street in Riverton.

I don't trust your judgement at all considering that you thought it was a great idea to put ANOTHER 7-Eleven in town which will attract more criminals and create another teenage hangout where they will be up to no good for certain. Yeah that's a real great idea let's put another cigarette roll-up third-tier dirty little convenience store in town that's under the exact same name as another store in town. I seriously pray for you to gain some sensibility.

Hey Eric. Felt the need to chime in. I'll go to bat for Frank for a second. I would also wish District 611 and for that matter every single restaurant and business that decides to open up in our triboros (don't know the best way to say that!). Why not? If more businesses opened up and succeeded, more would probably attempt it. I'll agree with you that another 7-11 seems like it's overkill, but it's not my or your (presumably) money. Nor is it the town's job to say what business gets to go there. They have some say, but 7-11 didn't go against any zoning or building issues, so they were free to spend money in Cinnaminson, rehab an old site, and put up a nice looking brand new building. Let's hope they make it, why wish them ill?
District 611 looks great from the outside, menu looks great, go get 'em.
For the record, in my opinion, there are a number of very good restaurants and businesses in Palmyra-Cinnaminson-Riverton. Both family owned and corporate. There are some not so great ones too. Just like every other town in America.

Nice to see Riverton hosting some quality restaurants. Not like this degenerative filth we have in Cinnaminson like an all you can eat dirtbag restaurant, sonic, run down diners.

Hey sonic is good. Albeit fast food but not bad! We can't get any quality restaurants because there are no more liquor licenses to be had. But I for one will be trying District this weekend as my lil bro is back home from college. Someplace new to try!!

Went at 4:55 PM tonight to order a pizza for takeout. Figured I would give them a try. I was told to come back at 5:00 PM when they open. Don't understand why they couldn't take my order 5 minutes early. Even if they held on to it for 5 minutes until they opened. Didn't make sense. Ended up going else where.

Roger just curious but why should they make an exception for you? Their hours of operation are what they are. You couldn't wait 5 minutes?

@Sarah, I side with Roger. The number one rule of business is to create good will. You do not want to turn away business. You only have one opportunity to earn the dollar bill that is waving at you. Turn it down and someone else will earn that dollar bill as it happened in this case. I am sure Starr will be disappointed to learn his staff turned away an opportunity to make money over a few minutes.
The restaurant is new which means they have to work out their kinks. I hope Roger would try them again. Roget might want to phone in his order.
I am a regular at Zio Tuscany since I first read about them in Patch last year. Their food has always been great. Their service is great now but it took them a while to work it out.

It was there Grand Opening yesterday, its rediculous to think they should have made an exception for someone coming in early.
My wife and I walked in around 6:00 without a reservation and were seated right away, it got real busy soon after we arrived. The place is very nice, service was good, nice menu and we had a very good meal at a reasonable price (Loved the brussel sprouts). I for one am very happy a restaurant of this caliber has opened close to home. And its a BYOB which I prefer.
