Final 'Sneaker Sunday' This Weekend
The nature walk is planned for Crystal Lake Park in Mansfield.
Join Burlington County Freeholder Mary Ann O’Brien on the trails of Crystal Lake Park on Sunday, Oct. 14 at noon.
O’Brien, an avid runner, created “Sneaker Sundays,” a program aimed at drawing residents of all ages on to the Burlington County park trails for a casual Sunday stroll.
Walkers are encouraged to meet at noon at the information kiosk adjacent to the parking lot. No pre-registration is required and no fees.
“Walking is good healthy exercise and Sneaker Sundays offer residents an opportunity to discover this family-friendly park,” said O’Brien.
A park ranger will offer some insight into the park and its natural inhabitants, making this an educational event as well.
The walk will cover roughly two miles of trail. Crystal Lake Park, on Axe Factory Road in Mansfield, is a very expansive park with a rugged feeling that provides the perfect wilderness experience. It includes diverse wildlife and plant life, and provides natural overlooks and ridges along the trail paths. This park is slightly more challenging than other County Parks.
This is the last “Sneaker Sunday” in the series for this year.
