Music Makers Update: B101 Contest Results

The Music Makers perform their Christmas concert Thursday.

After online voting, the Rush School Music Makers fell just short winning the semifinals of the B101 Christmas Choir Contest.

Haverford Middle School edged out Cinnaminson after yesterday's voting period.

The Music Maker's song, Children, Go Where I Send Thee, included an intricate two-part choral arrangement and a three-part a capella introduction. Haverford nabbed the spot with their rendition of Carol of the Bells.

The Music Makers may not have tasted victory this year, but in 2011, the group took the top spot for middle schools in the NJ 101.5 Christmas Choir Contest.

In 2010, the Music Makers won the B101 contest.

Rush School Music Makers posted this on their Facebook page:

Congratulations to Haverford Middle School. Kids, it's never easy to loose (sic). But it's part of winning. And loosing (sic) to an amazing a-capella middle school choir is an honor! We did an unbelievable job qualifying this year. It's a testament to your hard work and dedication to be in the top 9 out of nearly 200 entries. Now let's focus on our concert and do our best on Thursday!
