New Opening Date Set for 7-11

The convenience store should be open this month.

The original opening date of Oct. 24 for the new 7-Eleven store has come and gone, but your Slurpee fix is right around the corner.

The new opening date is scheduled for Nov. 14, according to Scott Drake, of the finance and communications department for 7-Eleven, Inc.

The newest 7-Eleven location is at 407 Route 130 South at the corner of Highland Avenue.

The store is owned by Lehigh Gas Corporation, a group based in Bethlehem, PA. It holds partnerships with several gas station companies including Mobil, Hess and Gulf.

The new 7-Eleven will not feature a gas station, however.

The store is around 3,000 square feet and will hold 18 parking spots. The 7-Eleven at the Route 130 and Riverton Road jug handle will remain open.

We are going to be the envy of Cherry Hill and Moorestown.

For the record, Moorestown already has two 7-elevens and Cherry Hill has six.

Ross, but we have a brand spanking new 7-11 and they do not.

PS: Sorry, my point is we seem to snag only third tier businesses. Yet little is done to improve the highway that unfortunately defines downward our fine town. I do admit it could have been worse. We could have gotten an Asian nail salon or another Bottom Dollar.

Very impressed with the quality of the construction. The attractive, well designed brick building and front facade is a major improvement over the boarded up gas station which used to exist. Glad the other 7-11 on the northbound sign will also remain. You know, haven't had a Slurpee in many years. Maybe it's time to rekindle such from my youth.

The location is great. There's not another convenient place on that side of 130 to pickup a loaf of bread and a cup of coffee once you pass Edgewater. I've had to double back many times to go to the other 711 or God forbid, through the intersection from hell, to go to WaWa. I hope it's not a hangout for the motel dwellers. Good luck!
