Original Brother's Pizza Owner Leaving Acme Location
Patch will have a full story later this week.
According to a post on the Nick's Pizza and Pasta Facebook page, the original owner of Brother's is leaving the Acme location to focus on Nick's located in the Shoppes.
Stay tuned for a full story later this week, with interviews from the family.
The post says:
It's the end of an era. The original owner of Brother's is leaving his much beloved location in the next couple of weeks, and he will be focusing on his new and improved location, Nick's Pizza and Pasta!!! Although there still may be a Brother's Pizza in the old acme plaza, the owner, nick, and his recipes will be exclusively at Nick's Pizza and Pasta! Oh and the cheesesteak lady will soon be working at Nick's too!!! Repost to get the word out! Thanks (sic)

What is happening with Nick's partner, Tony ??? Also, what is happening with Tony's sisters and brother who have always operated and run Brother's Pizza ??? Are they going to be thrown out of there ??? I have to say I will miss the "what kind of soda ?" lady although she was annoying at times :)

I have been in the food service business for years and what I can tell you is that Nick Scotto is the original owner of Brother's Pizza. He started that business in 1979. He developed a strong customer base by giving people great food at reasonable prices. It is unfortunate that sometimes when family is involved, business decisions become a greater difference of opinion than they should be.
Believe me, the business decision to open a new location was carefully considered on how it would affect Nick's customer base. From what I see, the same recipes have been carried over to the new location along with so many new and tasty menu options.
I believe Nick will do very well there and I'm asking you to ignore all the nonsense you are reading that poses negative and unsubstantiated claims.
I fully support the new location, and ask you to do the same.

Up until around the mid to late '70's the only pizza restaurant in Cinnaminson was Pat's Pizza.

Well, when acme closed the foot traffic stopped so if U are a business man and are not making a profit why would U stay open with high taxes.....oh well, they are not the only ones empty.....good luck

Support tony as he is staying. This is an ugly fight being played out via social media. Tony says he's not going anywhere and signed a sweet deal with the cart track as well. The food is still the same ole Brorhers as they've been the ones cooking it all these years.

Tony is staying and so are his sisters!! Its the same pizza that has always been there that I grew up on and will continue to eat. It seems funny to me that now all of a sudden there is a new Nick's pizza it seems to me like he split from Brother's and now is trying to back peddle. I am going to stay with Tony at the original Brother's! I will continiue to support Tony and the crazy sisters because it not only the pizza but the friendly faces who know our names that make it a family place.

Nick hasn't split with Brother's. He still owns that place as of right now.

Melissa, please read my comment above about how Brother's originated and when. Nick IS the original owner of that shop opening in 1979.

Hang on everyone—I'm not getting just one side. I haven't even written a story yet. As you can see, all I did was repost a Facebook post and said a full story will come later this week. As a professional journalist, I will do my due diligence and talk to both sides of course. There's no need to worry about that. Having said that, anybody from either store can reach out to me, as one side has already. My information is readily available.

There is no author to he story it's just a blur she got
From their website. I personally don't care what's going on between Nicks or Brothers. I'll go eat my pizza where I want, as long as its delicious. I don't see any negativity to the "story" so I don't understand why everyone else has I make it seem like it is ugly

@Kim, your saying that its a negative for people to chat about something in the news
I find that all people do the same thing when they are talking about something from the news, Like the car wash and sunoco, Barones, and Triboro site....We also have a new 7-11 coming but when we do not know but people will say what they will and end up doing something else....Like the leaf pick up, people just do what they want and sometimes they do not think....Hope U enjoy your pizza where ever U go....

First off let me say sorry about the grammatical errors in my above comment. I was writing from my phone, and I didn't realize all the mistakes
@John, I didn't mean that it was negative the people chatted about anything. That's the great thing about Cinnaminson Patch, you can leave comments. I wanted to say that people seem to be getting a negative vibe from the blurb that Christina re-posted from the Facebook page of Nick's Pizza and Pasta. I don't think what Nick wrote was negative. The people who have commented are making it look like there is some ugly fight going on.
Thanks John, I will enjoy my pizza (I think both Brother's and Nick's has great pizza)

It seems like Nick is trying to move all the business to the new store and cut Tonys throat and livelihood of the rest of the clan... Just looking from the outside in... Are they all related ??? They all have the same last name.
Mare Zorio
2:40 pm on Tuesday, November 27, 2012
It seems as though you have a one-sided view, Ed. I've been in food service for years and know that Nick is the original owner of that shop opening in 1979. Tony came along much later. Yes, they are related. Business decisions can be tough sometimes and the fact that it's family sometimes makes business decisions (and what's best for customers and business alike) becomes more complicated than it should be.

Since when does a Facebook post constitute "news"? Seems like Patch jumped the gun on this one.

We are not trying to cut anyone's throat or their livelihood. I don't know where everyone is getting their information. We did not say anything negative about Brother's Pizza, and never will. We are still part owners as of today. We just wanted to let everyone know that in the near future, Nick will no longer be a part of Brother's Pizza. Yes Nick will be taking his recipes, that he created way back when, but no where does it state that when he leaves Brother's, that the pizza will change there. Yes there are some recipes that the little old lady likes to keep to herself, but she isn't splitting atoms, she is making soup, caesar dressing what be it. We know how hard it is to be an owner of a small business, especially in this economy. We know the hard work and dedication it takes (We've been doing it for over 30 years) we wish everyone the best of luck. Give Nick's and Brother's a try and see what you think. We would like to thank everyone for their continued support, and am truly saddened by the negative rumors circling around. Thank You

Patch did NOT jump the gun by posting a blurb and a statement that a story is forthcoming. News channels do that every night "Stay tuned after (insert name of show) for the complete story on the (insert upcoming news story.) Who cares who owns which store? It's a small town. You can eat/support both places.

I know they say The recipes are the same, but the Sicilian pie at Nick's is out of this world. Can't compare to the one from Brother's SORRY. I think they changed something in the sauce too because their chicken parm is phenomenal.

I'm not going to lie but the reason why I stopped going to Brother's was because of the twin sisters. They were extremely rude to me and my family on more then one occasion. I was actually yelled at once by one of them. I know English isn't their first language, but rude is rude in any language

The real story is they are parting ways and one way or another Tony and his family are gonna get the door slammed in their face by losing their livelihoods, whether forever or whether for 3 months. I ask Rita Scotto, will your father leave these people pave their own path and earn their living or will he close the place down ? My understanding is the lease expires December 31 but plans are to actually shut down this week, if that is the case, then yes, Throats Are Being Cut !!!! I look forward to your honest and sincere reply.

Mr. Jenkins, that isn't the true story. It is obvious where you are getting your information. If you would like, you are more then welcomed to stop by Nick's Pizza and Pasta, and speak with Nick. Once you've spoken to Nick, then maybe you can make a more accurate comment. :)

Its not your house !!! It is a lease agreement with Acme so you have to walk away... By you saying half you are also admitting to a partnership which your side seems to deny any existence of... I will take Rita up on her invitation and stop in to see Nick and try the new place out...

Please support the "Original" Brothers Pizza. Tony is one of the friendliest business owners in town. When I worked at the Acme ,he always supported us ,and helped out any way he could. This is a family feud that should remain between the families.Brothers business will pick up especially when the Racetrack opens.

Wow people it's pizza not politics. Both families responded and were very polite in their response. It's the outside people who are making this a big deal, even though it sounds like someone is being fed what to say. Is this really anyone's business, besides the owners? No. Go back to watching your soap operas, and stop making this out to be more then it is.

This whole thread cracks me up. I think the only people "jumping the gun" are the people posting. The FB post only says that Nick is leaving Brothers, never said Brother's was closing. Sheesh. Excited to see the story though so these comments can be answered. Dave's right-the owners posted respectfully. Eat the pizza where you it's convenient for you.

I have been going to Brother's since I was in high school in the 80s. Nick was the only man in there with a big mustache!! I have been going there for ages and Tony didn't come along until much later, so I can see why Nick calls himself the original owner. I followed Nick to his new place, it's closer to home, and Nick remembers me from when I was 17! He's the man.
