Patch Editor Christina Paciolla Says Goodbye
Today is my last day as editor of Cinnaminson Patch.
More than two years after learning the ins and outs of Cinnaminson, its people, its government, its businesses and more, I’ll be saying goodbye to Patch.
Today is my last day as editor of Cinnaminson Patch. I’ve accepted a position as city editor with Metro Philly, managing its newsroom and local news section.
It wasn’t an easy decision to leave Patch. I grew up in Cinnaminson and have seen it in a whole new light—interesting people who truly care about this town, businesses I never knew existed and events I ignored as a teenager.
Not only learning about them, but also writing about them, has been extremely fulfilling.
Since the NEWSWeekly stopped printing, and daily newspaper efforts have been focused on bigger Burlington County towns, Cinnaminson was starving for a local outlet. When I heard Cinnaminson was chosen by AOL to be a Patch town, I knew I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be at the helm.
For the past two years, I’ve brought you stories on everything from major crime, to township issues, to school events. And I’ve loved every second of it.
All of that will continue. Rob Scott, the editor of Moorestown Patch, will be taking Cinnaminson under his wing to continue all the great news, columns, photos, announcements and calendar events we bring you each day.
As for me, well you’ll catch me on the comments section or maybe writing a column. You’ll still see me at ShopRite or Hathaway’s since I will still be living locally. I too am excited about the renovation of the old Cinnaminson Home, how Route 130 will continue to redevelop and if that roundabout really is coming to Riverton Road… (I'm OK with it...I know how to work 'em!)
There are many people to thank for making Cinnaminson what it was during my time here. To all of our freelancers and bloggers, especially: Catherine Laughlin, Janet Tumelty, Kevin Haslam (our inaugural sports editor), Jim Vassallo, Ivrie Myhre and John Shields;
To all the township officials who have been instrumental as sources of news, especially: Don Brauckmann, Tony Minniti, Tim Young, Bill Kramer, and Sal Illuzzi;
To all the residents who have taken a vested interest in Patch and have contributed either as bloggers, frequent commenters or friends in the community, especially: Cindy Pierson, Frank Szymkowski, Ken Miller, Matt Bacon, George and John Kyrtatas, Charlie Kind, Christine Turner, Rob O'Connor, Doug Sell, Stacey Blacker, and Susan Wompierski;
And also a thank-you to everyone I’ve emailed when the subject wasn’t so positive. It’s good to be kept on your toes even when both sides don’t see eye to eye.
And of course a special thank-you to: our regional editor Tim Zatzariny Jr. for trusting me with the site; our associate regional editor Lauren Burgoon for always giving the best advice, the best word to use and the best headline; Diane Fuhrer, the founding editor of Moorestown Patch, for all her guidance; and Rob Scott, the current editor of Moorestown Patch for being my partner-in-crime.
My career in journalism was elevated to another level when I left as county and political reporter for the Gloucester County Times, to being an editor for Patch. And I’m glad Patch has served as a springboard to the next step in my career managing online and print news for the biggest daily paper in Philadelphia.
I loved my time here. I hope all of you love Patch and will continue to love, support and use Patch on a daily basis. I know I will.

Congratulations. It is quite a big step going from Patch to the Metro which has the second largest circulation in Philadelphia – its circulation is even larger than the Daily News. I understand that the Metro is owned by a Swedish corporation so you might want to brush up on your Swedish. I love Scandinavia, my grandfather’s family hails from Copenhagen.
You are making a great career move; perhaps soon they will have you working at one of their corporate owner’s papers in London or Paris. Wow. Good luck.

Thank you so much for your support to the Cinnaminson Community Chorus. We enjoyed when you came to our rehersal and wrote the story about our group. You will be missed by many Cinnaminson residents. I also thought you were great when you kept us up to dated during Super Storm Sandy and Hurricane Irene. Christina, I left Cinnaminson about 20 years ago after a few terms on the Zoning Board and a few years as a candidate for Committee. The inheritance of my childhood home in Merchantville, altho only 5 miles away, made it necessary to leave Cinnaminson, where we had lived for 20+ years and raised our three children, Needless to say I missed our Cinnaminson home. I want you to know that I filled that void by reading your news and somehow felt I was still there -- all the names and places I recognized. My best wishes to you in your new position.
