At 8:17 p.m., Jan. 9, police were dispatched to ShopRite for a theft in progress. Police found a male subject physically fighting with store security. The subject ran from police but was apprehended in the parking lot. He resisted arrest, police said.

The report in the Burlington County Times shows what an upstanding citizen this dirtbag is. He has been charged several times since 1987. I say we ship this dirtbag back to George Norcross county with a note pinned to him saying "keep your garbage out of our town and county!"

That's sort of a silly over-reaction. Crime happens everywhere, and other stores aren't immune to it, including liquor stores.

Should we shut down the Cinnaminson WaWa because somebody got her face slashed there?
Should we shut down the Palmyra WaWa because of all the shoplifting and panhandling there?
Should we shut down the Park Tavern because somebody shot a hole in it?

Should we shut down WalMart? That place is a breeding ground for thieves

How many reports of shop-lifting do we get out of there? All I ever see on the police blotter is "Someone arrested stealing liquor from ShopRite". Sorry, I think it's time they do look at revoking their liquor license.

Do not think that would solve the problem....besides they paid for the right to sell liquor so your going to give them back money, do not think thats an option....shop lifting is with us no matter what, just like speeders, people who do not stop at stop signs and flooding from the river....I can go on but it would do no good....have a good one

Your thought process is nothing more than a typical politicians knee jerk reaction when something does not go right, lets just get rid of it or ban everything. How about we look at the issue and work on correcting that. This country has lost it's common sence!

@Mark, not a politician but the facts are facts...overassessed houses, high taxes, and no matter where U go there will always be people that try and take advantage of U....I would think that the flooding in that area should have been solved a long time ago but turtles do not stick there head out to often to see the problems...good luck

I wonder how many legitimate sales vs. number of thefts? I'd bet they're doing a brisk liquor business and dealing with theft attempts is a cost of doing business. It's time for the owners to take a look at re-designing the liquor area to make it less attractive to attempt to steal the liquor. While the open concept is very convenient to shoppers, it give the false impression that it's easy to steal from there. The number of police reports regarding the people caught stealing just proves that appearances are deceiving. And while they're at it, maybe they can do something about the overwhelming smell in the seafood area.

They should block off the booze and beer with portable walls.. have the only entrance and checkout be near the existing counters. They should remodel it so its more like the Wegmans in Moorestown, where its a separate store inside the other store. I'd think that would help cut down on the thefts.
