Raise Money for Football with Guest Bartenders Tonight
The township's football program will hold a fundraiser at Curran's in Palmyra from 5 to 9 p.m. tonight.
Some familiar faces will be tending bar in Palmyra tonight and it’s all to benefit Cinnaminson’s football youth program.
About a dozen coaches will take turns serving brews and booze to customers—21 and over of course—and a portion of the proceeds will help out with football costs.
“It’s an opportunity for our football community to go out and have a good time,” said Ken Miller, with the football program.
From 5 to 9 p.m., coaches will be slinging suds at Curran’s on Broad Street in Palmyra. Gift baskets will be raffled off—even an iPad—and a 50/50 will held too.
“We are expecting a pretty big turnout for this,” Miller said.
Cinnaminson youth football holds a few fundraisers a year to help keep registration costs low. They have done fundraisers with Jersey Mike’s and dine and donate events at P.J. Whelihan’s.
“We try to do stuff where people can actually enjoy themselves,” Miller said. “We’re trying to make it a little more family-friendly this year.”
Last month, the township’s football players received brand new uniforms, made possible by the donations of several local businesses.
The township opened the season Sept. 15 part of the South Jersey Independent Football League.
