Sentencing for Child Molester Postponed Again
Daniel Smith, of Cinnaminson, pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a teenager at a township park two years ago.
UPDATE: Daniel Smith's sentencing was postponed again today. According to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office, Smith is scheduled to be sentenced at 10 a.m. next Thursday, March 7.

Sentencing for a Cinnaminson man who sexually assaulted a 14-year-old boy in Wood Park two years ago has been postponed until next week.
Daniel Smith, of Lenola Road, was scheduled to be sentenced in Superior Court Thursday, but the sentencing was pushed back until 10 a.m. next Thursday, Feb. 28, according to Joel Bewley, spokesman for the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office.
Bewley was unable to explain the exact reason for the postponement.
Smith pleaded guilty to sexual assault in November 2012, the day he was supposed to go to trial. His negotiated plea calls for a seven-year sentence in state prison.
Smith was arrested in January 2011 after he sexually assaulted the teenager at Wood Park on Dec. 1, 2010. Smith said he assaulted the boy after contacting him online. The two had agreed to meet a second time—Jan. 7, 2011—but instead, local police and the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office took him into custody.
In January 2011, Smith was also one of 12 people who pleaded guilty after a federal jury in Philadelphia convicted Richard K. Creamer of conspiracy to manufacture 1,000 or more marijuana plants and maintaining a place for manufacture of controlled substances.
According to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Smith worked at the city warehouse where, monthly, up to 20 pounds of high-grade marijuana sold for about $5,000 per pound.
Smith served time for those drug charges. He is currently out on bail from the sexual assault charges.

Gee, it is always good news to acquire a fan like you - but please as much as I am wondering when Ken Gertie will be honoring his commitment to install his sidewalk I rather be known, like Bull-Pitt, that we need to two party rule. its simply mind bogling how it take 2 YEARS to go thru this process... I understand the innocent until proven guilty thing, but he admidted to it! Shouldnt they just throw his butt in the slammer imediately, file the paperwork that night ,and tomorrow morning he can be slurping down some oatmeal with his new roommate? I mean seriously its been 2 YEARS?!?!?

Maybe next month he"ll go see his new boytoy!!!!! He keeps crying about wanting to spend time with his "kids". Maybe he is afraid because Sandusky is fighting in court on the same day to have his sentence reduced. I personally think we should allow those 2 "fine" animals to share 1 blanket, 1 single army cot and be roommates until their finish in jail.

I totally agree innocent untill proven guilty. He PLEAD guilty. So he admitted he did it. As far as I'm concerned that is the end of the line for him. He should have gone straight to jail.

Yes this guy broke the law and will be punished accordingly and hopefully get the help he needs.
But lets not judge other people because they sin differently than us. Because we're so goddam perfect ourselves.
Yes he did a dedpicable thing with a minor and put that underage person in harms way.
But you know what, im willing to bet half of you are the idiots that drive their cars down my side street doing 50 mph when my own four kids are outside playing. IMHO youre much more of a danger to my children then this guy ever was - mostly because youll do it several times a day.

This guy admidted to child molestation charger and hes still waling the streets 2 years later... hes not having to pay for his mistake. What is going on here?????? It has been delayed 3 or 4 times since Feb. 20, 2013. Is something fishy going on? No one has answered the question this past 5 days and I am wondering is he walking around town or at the park across the street from his home? I don't want any of the pre-teen kids who are going to the park for soccer to be in trouble when they run into him on their way. I have tried to call the county with no results. Can anyone tell the parents of our town. I think maybe we should all drive our kids and stay at all practices until we can rest a little easier.

Today is Friday and STILL no one has given any answers to the parents of our town. I really am starting to worry, He might be here for Easter week when all of the kids are out of school. We the people need to yell and scream " Give" us some information on a local man in our town who lives across the street from one of our largest parks/playgrounds. All parents need to take a role in making our town safe. He did plead "GUILTY" to the offense.
