Site Plans for Raceway to Be Presented

The public can get a chance to see the raceway's layout.

Officials from Kimco Reality Corporation, the group behind the proposed go-kart facility slated for the vacant Vanity Fair in the ACME shopping center, will present site plans tonight (Wednesday) at the township's zoning board meeting.

Kimco's first appearance to present site plans—last month—was tabled.

In this case, site plans are going before the zoning board since the group needed a use variance to open a go-kart facility. They were granted the use variance in December.

Site plans for the indoor racetrack include concessions, conference and meeting spaces, a retail area, and an arcade. They would be using about 85,000 square feet of vacant space in the center.

The construction of Sonic Drive-In across the parking lot from where the raceway would go is well underway. Sonic is slated to open this spring.

The zoning board meets at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the township municipal building.

I for one look forward to having something that the kids of Cinnaminson can enjoy and have parties at. Let's just hope it is our kids that can benefit from it from time to time and it does not turn into a problem location like some of the other new businesses in town.

Those who are happy about this 'addition' to Cinnaminson should be careful about what they approve. Notice the parking situation over at the mall with the new restaurant...crowded, crowded and again, crowded. As one poster said, "..hopefully the town children/teens or whatever are able to use it!! I can just see 'parking' becoming a problem and the library/townhall lots being used by this facilities patrons. AND, lets not forget the noise created by it as well as the traffic and accidents coming in and out of the mall. I don't like being a wet blanket...but things are sure 'achanging in Cinnaminson'!!

Nancy share your ideas for what to use this building for that will not increase parking and traffic....how about that for something that is "changing"? Come up with an idea, just not complain!!! If you can think of a business that will thrive without increasing traffic I am sure people would like to hear it.

Thats right nancy what this town needs is more empty buildings. if we could just rid of the rest of the people in those businesses. we could live like those simpler days after the stock market crash. just stick to yelling at squirrels

At one time, there was an ACME, Mattress store, Odd Job, and Ames/Vanity Fair. I believe the traffic was 10x worse back then, than it will be with a skatepark and sonic. This Kart track is a LOW volume business during weekdays and top volume on sat and sundays. You will only see traffic similar to when that complex was thriving 10 years ago, on the weekends. There's no issue there. I think its time for you to move out because its people like you who dont care about empty lots and loss of tax revenue. Your time has been dated.

Seems to me the point of a parking lot is for it to be used. There's also a whole big lot behind the building that never gets used anymore. I have a hard time imagining how a go-cart track, a buffet, a fast food place, and a pizza place could use up more parking than a super-market(!), matress store, blockbuster video, and outlet store did. Compared to the traffic in other towns, Cinnaminson is a breeze. Check out Route 73 in Marlton if you wanna see what traffic really is.

so right Ross. Or check out Haddonfield road around the CH mall on a weekend if you want to see traffic.

Agreed, can't see that happening with the town hall/police being right there.

Then again that back lot is clearly going to become a hoonage drift ring with unpainted 240s' - equipped with SR20Ts. No one will be safe.
