Township to Sell Parcel of Land to Developer
The new project is not yet announced but would occupy Sunoco and the former car wash.
The township recently approved issuing a letter of intent to sell a parcel of land off Route 130 to a potential developer.
The tract of land—between Sunoco gas station and the corner of the jug handle of Route 130 North and Branch Pike—is township-owned and could be part of a package to a potential developer.
Arista Development LLC may have a buyer in mind that would occupy that piece of land, Sunoco and the former car wash in the gas station’s parking lot.
That piece of land—said Deputy Mayor Anthony Minniti, who also serves as the director of economic development—was leftover from roadway construction.
Arista is allegedly moving forward with development of the area to open a “true corner property,” Minniti said.
Stay with Patch for updates.

Could the Sunoco move to the old Mobil/Lukoil station that's abandoned over at Church and Rt. 130, next to Wawa, that way we still have a station on that end of town?

When did we get our first? That was my initial reaction, though, but the one in Delran might be a little too close. They like to spread them out by 5 miles or so. They have the one on Rt. 73 in Pennsauken, Rt 130 in Pennsauken, Rt 73 in Maple Shade, and Rt. 130 in Delran and another on the other side by Delanco. If you judge the distance between Delanco one and Pennsauken, don't know if that location would be good for them or not with all the others that would surround it, particularly the Delran one on the same side of the highway.

You and everyone else in this town will never see a Super WAWA. They apparently got denied at the former Tri Boro car dealership a few years ago, hence the Super WAWA in Delran. That's right; we lost another one to our neighbors to the North.

Originally Walgreens was supposed to go where the car wash and Sunoco are,What happened .I still think that might be their plan if not a Wawa.

A Walgreens or any 24/7 drug store would be great at that location. Let's hope that is the case!

I can't see why we would need another Pharmacy in town. We already have phatrmacies in Shoprite, Sam's Club, Walmart, 2 Riteaid's - instead of building a new Pharmacy how about supporting a local store like Rosvold's - we don't need another chain store.

Exciting news. I hope we get something good at this location. Sunoco is a privately owned business and can move wherever it wants or can sell whenever it wants, to whoever it wants. Seems like gas and service stations are just a casualty of the times and bad economy! I think the old Lenny’s would be a great spot for Sunoco if they want to relocate and stay in business. Rose, the car wash was been closed for years and is falling down.

This is two years old, but this article sheds light on the whole "Why isn't there a Super Wawa here?" http://cinnaminson.patch.com/articles/ordinance-allows-for-gas-stationfood-mart-combos
And no, a Super Wawa is not going there.

When did this approval happen? Last thing I had heard about the car wash property, which was owned by the Sunoco people, was when the committee (and everyone else) agreed that it was an eyesore and had safety issues - wasn't it one of the properties targeted for some sort of legal action (along with Triboro and the old gas station at Willow Dr and RT130 and a few others) for clean-up? Has the twp acquired the car wash or are they brokering the real estate deal or are they forcing the current owner into doing this deal somehow? And I would like to hear from the chairman of the economic development committee that was appointed earlier this year - i have to check the past patch articles to see who was on it.

At a meeting at our condo (Sweetwater) about a year ago, Mayor Minnitti asked for suggestions for empty spaces. Acme is right next door to us and I'd love to see a Trader Joe's there. Also, maybe an Odd Lotl. I know this is off the track here but I'd like to ask what everyone thinks of this. sweetwilliam

Bruce—you can follow every store I've written about that here: http://cinnaminson.patch.com/topics/lutheran-social-ministries-project
It seems the story might be in need of a follow up to see where Lutheran is with the project. I'll work on that. Just know projects like this take a very long time, especially since the state was involved in this too. Thanks.

Frank, of course you are right about the number of pharmacies, but I'm sure it would be much better to have a stable chain pharmacy than a bunch of empty lots. Maybe they could have a dollar store there or 5.00 store. We don't have one do we? That would be great asset. More viable businesses in Cinnaminson right Frank?

True but I am saying that our small town cannot support so many pharmacys. Plus we may end up losing a local family owned Pharmacy if this happens, which would be a tragedy. Id rather see Sunoco stay there more then a Walgreens
