Two Wild Animals in Cinnaminson, Palmyra Tested Positive for Rabies

A rabid groundhog tried to attack two dogs, said an animal control official.

Two wild animals in Palmyra and Cinnaminson have tested positive for rabies, according to Palmyra Police, after one tried to attack a family's two dogs.

A fox and a groundhog, who were either found dead or killed on the 900 and 1100 blocks of Morgan Avenue, were tested by county officials. Both came back positive for rabies.

According to a representative with M & R Wildlife, local animal control officials, a groundhog was reportedly chasing neighborhood dogs about three weeks ago on Morgan Avenue in Cinnaminson. When police responded, the groundhog tried to attack the officer, the representative said.
