Urgent Care Facility to Open in Cinnaminson

MedExpress will open soon where Hollywood Video once sat.

A medical care facility will open soon where Hollywood Video used to be in the Mainline Center, occupying one of the larger vacant properties along Route 130 in Cinnaminson.

The facility, MedExpress Urgent Care, will open its first New Jersey location here.

“People need medical care when they least expect it,” said Steve DeLozier, vice president of operations for MedExpress.

The model, DeLozier said, is care that is somewhere between a primary care physician and an emergency room. The facility will be equipped with x-ray machines and IVs and treat anything from lacerations to asthma attacks to the flu, he added.

“There are short wait times and there’s always a doctor on site,” DeLozier said.

There are no appointments necessary and the facility accepts nearly every type of insurance.

“If you don’t have insurance, we’ll work something out with you for a price you can pay right there,” DeLozier said.

DeLozier, who is from the Delaware Valley, is familiar with Cinnaminson and said the group chose a great area to open its first New Jersey location.

“We knew we were definitely going to expand in New Jersey,” DeLozier said. “Cinnaminson is part of what we saw as a great community for MedExpress. It’s a population that might be underserved. It’s a community on the upswing. The fact that we picked it first I think says a lot about Cinnaminson.”

The facility will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. Construction crews are still retrofitting the space—which is located at 1210 Route 130 North, Suite 1438. Med Express’ phone number will be 856-829-0407.

An opening date has not yet been announced.

Fun fact: Hollywood Video was my first job when I was 16. I never ate so much popcorn, Twix bars or D'Angelo's mozzarella sticks in my life.

This is the sort of business we need to attract more of, as opposed to another retail or restaurant establishment.
