Walk-In Dental Clinic Today for WIC Clients

Free dental care for WIC clients' children will be held today and Dec. 21.

The Burlington County Freeholders and the Women Infant and Children’s Program (WIC) is partnering with Smile New Jersey to hold two separate free walk-in dental clinics today and Dec. 21.

Both clinics will be held at the Burlington County Health Department from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. These clinics are open to WIC clients and Burlington County residents aged 1-18 years old.

“From birth to adulthood, it is extremely important that we take good care of our teeth,” said Burlington County Freeholder Mary Ann O’Brien. “The oral health care we receive and how we take care of our teeth, play a big role in our overall well-being.”

New Jersey licensed dentists will provide preventive dental services including exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, as well as x-rays and sealants where applicable. Children without dental insurance will receive a screening, dental cleaning and fluoride treatment with the signed returned of Smile New Jersey charity care application. Medicaid covers 100 percent of treatment when available; most insurance are accepted; insurance co-pays and deductibles may be covered by charity care.

I am confused. It says this is free but Medicaid pays 100%. Guess who is paying.
