Well, I guess people will do what they want to do in this town so if someone gets a summons for leaves being out I do not feel sorry for them....I happen to be driving on willow drive and there are 5 people that have put leaves out and the pick up for us is the first week in dec....I guess some people cannot read a calendar...oh well they have to learn the HARD WAY.....

well looks like cinnaminson could make a million dollars off the people due to all the leaves that are on ALL the corners ALL over cinnaminson....think its pretty hard not to put the leaves out earlty due to sooooo many are down and most people cant move them out to the curb during the week and only on weekends...so give us a break dude!!! :)

It looks like Cinnaminson should change the way they pick up leaves. Instead of monthly using a full crew, a backhoe and a trash truck how about every other week with a vacuum truck manned with merely one or two guys? It would save us lots of money on the long run and with a car or two less it would be now affordable.

I think you might be on to something there Ric. Is Cinnaminson trying to minimize costs or maximize man-hours worked? I've never seen the leaf crew come thru. How many people are on a crew, including the back hoe and trash truck drivers?

@eric P. Thank you. I have to add that there is also the street sweeper that follows up. From what I observed there are the drivers of the three vehicles (backhoe, trash truck, sweeper) and I believe there are two more guys on the ground with at least one of them with a leaf blower.
I am not complaining about the quality of their work but I do believe if Cinnaminson were to use a vacuum truck the job could be done with a substantial savings in man-hours worked. The other day I watched one at work rather quickly and efficiently on New Albany Road in Moorestown.
Considering the amount of leaves I see in my neighborhood (leaves line the curb from property line to property line) it might be more effective to collect leaves twice a month.

i have no side walk and i place my excess leaves and brush on my lawn, in a pile in the corner of my property. it's that that difficult. backyard composting is where most of my leaves go because it makes excellent soil. i also generate less trash because of all the organic food matter and coffee grinds we generate.

less trash + no leaves in street + great soil = WIN

John, we do not put them out ahead of schedule. Usually, we wait until the Sunday of the week of pickup. We put them out during the time we are allowed. My question was if there was a way not to put them in the street at all if you have sidewalks.

My leaves are scheduled to be picked up the 3rd week of the month. This past Saturday I was going to put my leaves out, Saturday morning I was woken up by the backhoe cleaning up the leaves on my street, a few days early of my scheduled pick. I thought, oh well I'll have to wait until next month, then I was woken again this morning by the backhoe cleaning leaves on the same street as one day prior. A waste of resources?
