Let's Talk Turkey Traditions...

Happy Thanksgiving! As you know, I'm engaged to a fellow Pirate who happens to live less than two miles away. I'm oh-so-thankful. We've never squabbled (gobbled?) about where to spend the holidays, or whose family gets more attention. It's just about dead-even! In fact, we've even gone back-and-forth-and-back-again on certain busy Thanksgivings and Christmasses. "Uncle So-and-so will only be at your house for 2 hours? Ok, we'll spend the morning at my house, a good chunk of the afternoon at yours, and come back to mine for coffee and dessert!" No problemo.

Talking with friends and coworkers makes me realize how lucky we are. Over dinner with Pete's married college friends recently, I sensed a distinct taste of vitriol with my pasta as the wife spit out their holiday plans. She hates to be away from her family, and resents the fact that she needs to now divide her attention. I feel her. And I'll never have to worry about that, woo!!

Even my parents, who met at Holy Cross High School (Go Lancers!!) dealt with this issue. And their families lived barely 20-minutes-apart! I love that Pete and I live so near, and never thought I'd be lucky enough to land such a catch right at home!

Since I'm newly-engaged and curious about how other local marrieds do it, please share your holiday traditions, below! And if you've been married a long time, how did you settle into a routine? Has it evolved over the years? Do you host out-of-towners or flee Cinnaminson yourselves? I'm so curious! And since no post is complete without a photo, check out this one from our recent engagement session... Have a wonderful and safe holiday!! xo
