The Red Dragon Canoe Club’s historic clubhouse, the Shipman Mansion, will be offering complimentary tours to the public, every weekend in 2012. The house, which has been on both the national and state registries of historic places since 1999, contains a wealth of artifacts, including a fleet of antique racing, sailing, and cruising canoes along with photographs recording some of the history of sailing on the Delaware River. Tours of the house, located at 221 Edgewater Avenue, Edgewater Park, NJ will be given Saturdays between 10am and 2pm and on Sundays from 1pm to 5pm. For more information, email jchdaniels@yahoo.com.
