Students can now earn a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Rutgers University at Burlington County College (BCC) with a new agreement signed between BCC and the Rutgers School of Business–Camden.

“Burlington County College is thrilled to welcome Rutgers University and offer another high-quality program for students to complete a bachelor’s degree in Burlington County,” said BCC Interim President Dr. David Spang, who holds a master’s degree in business administration from Rutgers. “Burlington County College and Rutgers have excellent academic programs and this collaboration is a tremendous benefit to students throughout the region.”

“Many students who graduate from Burlington County College choose Rutgers–Camden in order to earn a world-class bachelor’s degree. In fact, for many Burlington County residents, the Rutgers School of Business–Camden is their school of choice. By delivering the Rutgers bachelor of business administration degree right here at BCC, our two institutions are providing yet another Rutgers degree option in a convenient and expedient manner to help New Jersey citizens achieve their goals,” says Dr. Jaishankar Ganesh, dean of the Rutgers School of Business–Camden.

The 60-credit program will be run by the Rutgers School of Business–Camden at BCC’s Briggs Road Center in Mount Laurel.

“A major component of the county’s Workforce Development Initiative is increasing educational opportunities for residents looking to advance in their careers or enhance their earning potential,” said Burlington County Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio. “Offering a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Rutgers University at Burlington County College achieves both those goals and meets my workforce development vision.”

BCC alumni who have attended or are currently attending Rutgers School of Business–Camden joined BCC, Rutgers and county officials for a ceremonial signing.

“Attending Burlington County College was the best decision I have ever made because it laid the foundation to transition to Rutgers–Camden, which formed the cornerstone of my career success,” said Tony Hubbard, of Cherry Hill, who has an associate degree from BCC, and bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Rutgers and works as a contract specialist with the U.S. General Services Administration.

“The agreement between BCC and Rutgers will be a match made in heaven,” he added.

Daniel Gaffney balances a full-time course load with a retail job. He relies on public transportation from his home in Cinnaminson to Camden.

“I am happy that students will have the opportunity to get a Rutgers education at Burlington County College. My Rutgers education is preparing me for a successful business career and this partnership will do the same for other BCC students,” says Gaffney.

Marcella Singley, of Willingboro, is another example of how well BCC and Rutgers academic programs work together. Singley has a double major of accounting and finance and is the Founding President of the new Rutgers–Camden chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants.

“The classes I had at Burlington County College were pretty much a match for the curriculum that Rutgers-Camden has,” Singley said. “Since transferring to Rutgers–Camden, all of my courses have been related to my majors.”

The program offers a globally-acclaimed Rutgers degree in familiar surroundings that can to be completed in three years or less. Students should complete micro and macroeconomics, financial accounting, statistics, business computing, business law and calculus while completing their associate degree.

Students are encouraged to contact the Rutgers School of Business–Camden at 856-225-6710 or the BCC Transfer Office at 856-222-9311, ext. 2729.
