The Evergreens Hosts Events to Raise Money for 2013 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk
Dine Out to Donate at the Iron Hill Brewery on Monday, September 16th
On Monday, September 16, The Evergreens in Moorestown, NJ will hold their first Dine Out to Donate fundraiser at the Iron Hill Brewery, located at 124 East Kings Highway in Maple Shade. All proceeds will be going towards “Ross’ Racers” and their involvement in the American Cancer Society’s 2013 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk happening Sunday, October 27 in Pennsauken, NJ.
Each year, a group of Evergreens staff members, family and friends team up to walk as “Ross’ Racers” in honor of the late Mary Ellen Ross – former Vice President of Health Services at The Evergreens, who lost her courageous battle with breast cancer in August 2008.
“We work hard each year to keep Mary Ellen’s legacy alive through our Ross’ Racers fundraising efforts,” said Dakia McMillian, RN, BSN, Vice President of Health Services, Nursing and Privacy (HIPAA). “There are so many women battling and, like Mary Ellen, have lost their hard fought battle with breast cancer. It is for those courageous women that we work hard to not only meet but surpass our fundraising goals each year.”
A fundraiser voucher is needed in order to have 20% of each bill be donated towards “Ross’s Racers.” For a copy of the voucher, visit http://www.ironhillbrewery.com/mapleshade/give20/9-16-13-Give20-MS.pdf or call The Evergreens at 856-439-2000.
The Iron Hill Brewery fundraiser is the second in a series of fundraising events being held at The Evergreens to raise money for the team between now and October. “Ross’ Racers” is aiming to raise at least $7,500 this year.
