U8 Pirates Win Gloucester City Summer Rumble Championship

For the second time in 6 days the U8 Cinnaminson Pirates have won a tournament in South Jersey. This time is was the Gloucester City Summer Rumble; the 2014 Rumble featured some of the best club and town teams in South Jersey.  The Rumble is a test of team will with a grueling 5 game schedule in 4 days to win a championship.

In the Pirates last game of the 2014 season and championship game of the Rumble they were matched up with an extremely tough South Jersey Rams team.  After a hard fought back and forth game the Pirates came out on top 10 to 6. 

The Pirates earned their way to the 7 team Rumble Championship game by going 2-0 against Cherry Hill Atlantic and SJ Rams in Pool play. Then in the elimination round they beat Cherry Hill Atlantic and the South Jersey Bulls to earn their spot Monday night.

The Pirates offense produced 10 runs on 7 hits with 3 huge clutch hits from Daulton McDonald, Matt McCloskey, and Tommy Angelone each knocking in 2 runs apiece.  In this attack every Pirate reached base, 6 players had an RBI and 7 players scored a run. 

Starting Pitcher Alex LePage was followed by Kyle McDonough, Connor Prendergast, and Krystian Czajka who was named the game MVP with a 2 inning save.

With the conclusion of the 2014 season this group of U8 Pirates finished with an overall record of 20-10-3 record.  They won 3 tournaments and made a great deal of lasting memories.

The Pirates roster is Jackson Adams, Ryan Horner, Kyle McDonough, Alex LePage, Tommy Angelone, Daulton McDonald, Matt McCloskey, Connor Prendergast, Timmy Morrell, L.C. Smith, Karl Wissmann, and Kristian Czajka.
