Palmyra Resident Perseveres Through Lou Gehrig's Disease

Carol Resides has lived a fulfilling life despite the disease, according to a profile by the Burlington County Times.

Carol Resides, a 56-year-old Palmyra resident who was recently diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease, has not allowed the disease to slow her down and dilute her quality of life, the Burlington County Times reports.

The disease, whose technical name is amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), takes an individual's ability to move their arms, legs and body, and is always fatal, according to the report.

It hasn't slowed down Resides, who has tried her hand in the gold-mining industry and was a school principal before entering the world of business.
