Raising Awareness for Fallen Comrades

The Police Unity Tour rides through Cinnaminson during its four-day journey.

It was an impressive sight in Cinnaminson Tuesday as nearly 1,200 members from police departments nationwide rode bicycles on Route 130 South during their Police Unity Tour.

The ride began Monday, May 9, in Florham Park, and arrived Thursday at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C., for the Police Unity Tour Arrival Ceremony.

The tour, with riders from as far away as Texas and Nevada, began in 1997 by Officer Patrick P. Montuore of the Florham Park Police Department to bring public awareness of police officers who have died in the line of duty and to raise money for the memorial.
