Your Guide to Cinnaminson Day

We have a handy map for you to print out and bring with you.

Businesses, schools, organizations, residents and more will gather for Cinnaminson Day today from noon to 4 p.m. at Wood Park.

Showers are in the forecast for this afternoon, after 2 p.m., so Mayor Don Brauckmann is encouraging attendees to get there early.

Shown to the right is every vendor who will have a booth at Cinnaminson Day along with their corresponding table number. There are also maps showing attendees exactly where each vendor will be set up for the afternoon.

This year, all the exhibitors will be located in the parking lot in front of the new bathroom and concessions building. All the food vendors will be positioned around the bathroom and concessions building, and all the kid activities will be located near the basketball courts, gazebo, and playground area.

Make sure you stop by the Cinnaminson Patch table—number 18—to meet your editor Christina Paciolla, sign up to receive our newsletter and get some free Patch swag.

Oh, and if you have any story ideas, questions, comments or concerns, bring them to us.

it's 7:12 AM Sun. a street sweeper in Wood Park woke my family at 6:30, and i'm sure other families along Riverton Rd and Pomona Rd are also awake. two questions for our dear leader; 1) why can't a sweeper run on a weekday? 2) how much overtime is that guy making on a Sunday morning? Welcome to Cinnaminson Day, where our Mayor and Council spend your taxes patting themselves on the back. ...so much for quality of life

Note to self, do not wake up "chilly" before 7am, as he/she needs his sleepy-sleep.

Is there going to be a shredder truck today?
Christine T September 30, 2012 at 01:15 PM

Chilly- The sweeper probably needed to clean up after last night's movie night and before traffic picked up for St. Charles. Perhaps today was part of his/her 40 hr (or less) work week (so no OT).

Will the shredder truck (I think it was Polar Shredding last year) be there this year? I was hopeful but didn't see it on the list.

to Observer, 6:30AM on a Sunday is not necessary. if you were awakened at 6:30 on a Sunday maybe you'd be annoyed too. to Janet, last nights Lorax was a wonderful family event but why would there be trash left behind unless our neighbors are rude and leave trash in the parking lot. think about what you're saying. i just returned from the park to find the public works folks throwing all the recycling in with the trash. way to go Cinnaminson. keep it classy

and for what it's worth, i love this town and support events like movie night and Cinnaminson Day, but Patch has to be open to people with constructive criticism, as well as, praise for our municipal leadership. when Patch becomes a forum only for praise, than it is nothing more than political propaganda. enjoy your day everyone.

@Frank, have you ever been to Philadelphia? Yes, unfortunately there are shootings over there and there are dangerous neighborhoods but shootings are not an everyday occurrence on every street in every neighborhood. By the way, how much violence has there been in Cinnaminson during the past few years. Well besides the annual carnage at St. Charles’ carnival - which you seem to relish. According to FindTheData.com there were 14 violent incidents in Cinnaminson just in 2009. There was a stabbing during a robbery in Cinnaminson just a few weeks ago. And why are you laughing about Philadelphians getting shot? Did you think the dumping the murdered body of 17-yesr-old Felicia Mikels into a Cinnaminson creek murder of to be laughable? And who murdered Cinnaminson’s Kimberly Szumski and where? Would you think it appropriate if people laughed about a neighbor suffering a terrible crime (excluding car wrecks)? I would hope not.

This setup is ridiculous. All food is in one spot and you have to wait 45 minutes to grab a bite. Intermix it like before. People grab samples and continue to the other vendors then come back. If this is what they're going to do moving forward we'll stop going.

Oh boy, I am surprised that the public works people did not ISSUE SUMMONS for the clean up.....they do it for EARLY trees and leaves in the street, another joke for this community
Tracie September 30, 2012 at 06:21 PM
A nice way to spend the afternoon! Saw so many neighbors and friends. Yes, the food was a bit crowded....maybe they can try a different configuration next year.

Get a clue ric. I lived in Philly for 30 years. Yes it as bad as you can imagine,. A murder a day on average.. You have a lot to learn if you think Cinna is a dangerous place. Have YOU ever lived in Philly? If not then you really are clueless.
FbS September 30, 2012 at 07:09 PM
Chilly- recycling works this way... If a recycled materials bin is cross contaminated with trash is is considered trash and loses its recycling materials status. If you have a bin of recycled bottles and and recycled trash gets deposited in it, the whole bin becomes trash. That is what you probably saw hapening
FbS September 30, 2012 at 07:10 PM
Was a wonderful day there. The place was packed. Saw a lot of friends and business associates there. Great job by all! My family really enjoyed it!!! Thank you!
Ric September 30, 2012 at 07:51 PM
@Frank. You need to buy a bunch of clues at Wal-Mart. Yes, after I graduated from CHS, I lived in the nice sections of Philadelphia so I did not worry about my safety. Yes, there are some bad sections, like K & A, which is what you must be familiar with. And Cinnaminson is not immune from crime even if you live here. But the point of my message to you is that laughing about people getting shot is really rude and ignorant. After reading some of your comments (ex. the man who died from a car wreck) I wonder do the misfortunes of others make you feel empowered? Why does it make you LOL?
FbS September 30, 2012 at 08:32 PM
Ric, what are you talkng about? I never laughed at anyone getting hurt.
FbS September 30, 2012 at 08:40 PM
Gunshots are a normal nightly occurrence in hilly jopa. Sorry to say. I lived there. remember? 30years. Herd hundreds of rounds fired over the years. Has 2 friends killed by gunfire too.
Ric September 30, 2012 at 08:44 PM
@Frank. What do you think LOL stands for? I will give you a clue - it is not SWAK.
Robert D September 30, 2012 at 09:08 PM
What a wonderful day. Great job to everyone that was involved and put this event together. I loved the new layout in the parking lot and the dedicated kid area. The food line was a bit long but what do you want.......it's free!
FbS September 30, 2012 at 10:11 PM
exactly Robert!! Why would anyone complain about waiting a few minutes for free food is beyond me
