A Civil War-era cannon will be fired during the National Anthem at the start of a noon-time ceremony honoring living and deceased local veterans, including Andre Baker of Cherry Hill (Air Force, Korean and Vietnam), David Barnardo of Pennsauken (Army, WWII), the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Chapter 38-1 (all branches, all wars), in addition to the late Charles P. Trocolli of Woodbury (Army, WWII, POW for 2 years in Germany) and Ernest H. Baals, USMCR (Marine Corps, WWII, D-Day and Iwo Jima service).

One of the five 6’6 Best of Show trophies continues to honor a late Marlton resident, Harvey Schofield. Harvey, a veteran, was a collector of prized rare Lehmann-Peterson Continental Limousines who received services from Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice during the last months of his life. His family sponsors the Best of Show Trophy in Harvey’s memory as a tribute to his passionate love of cars and to assist other veterans requiring Samaritan’s end-of-life care.

There is a $15 registration fee for cars exhibiting at the show; the event is free to spectators, but free-will donations to Samaritan are accepted. The event includes music and food. Proceeds will benefit Samaritan Veterans’ Hospice Services.

Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice cares for patients and families coping with a life-limiting illness. The experience of military service – particularly during traumatic combat assignments – can affect veterans physically, socially and emotionally throughout their lives, and especially at the end of life. Samaritan Veterans’ Hospice Services provide specialized care and education for veterans and their families. Samaritan also offers a Veterans Visiting Veterans program, where veteran patients can be visited by veteran volunteers.

Sponsorship opportunities are available. For more information on the car show, contact John Giacoboni at (609) 780-6640 or amxx@comcast.net.
