Patch 5-Day Forecast: a Ride on the Temperature Rollercoaster

Will we be dealing with any wintry weather this week? Find out in the PatchCast for Jan. 28-Feb. 3.

If you didn't like last week's cold temperatures, I have good news. We'll be up around 60 degrees by Wednesday! However, we'll be back down into the mid-30s by the end of the week. I hope you're ready to take a ride on the temperature rollercoaster.

A low pressure system will bring us a mixed bag of precipitation today. We'll see times of rain, snow, sleet, and freezing rain through the day. Be extra cautious while driving because freezing rain freezes with contact to the ground, meaning that any untreated roadways may turn to ice rather quickly.

On Tuesday, the short upward temperature climb begins. We should see times of sun and clouds, but don't be surprised if you see more clouds than sun. A shower can't be ruled out, but most of the day will end up dry. High temperatures will rise into the mid 50s.

Wednesday will be downright warm, especially compared with how cold it was last week. High temperatures will be between 60 and 65 degrees. An approaching cold front will cause showers to develop during the afternoon or evening and last through the overnight hours.

Cooler air will arrive behind the cold front, and the drop in temperatures will begin. Thursday will still be in the 40s, but mid-30s will be common Friday through Sunday. There will be the chance for some snow showers during these few days, but not much accumulation is expected so it won't be a big deal.

Enjoy the 60-degree weather on Wednesday, and don't forget to check out Phillyweather.net throughout the week for updated forecasts!
