Brother's Pizza Owner Decides Shop's Fate

Will the longtime pizza place stay or go?

Brother’s Pizza, as we all know it, is gone.

But don’t fear! The owners and recipe aren’t changing, just the name and phone number. That's not so bad, right?

As of Jan. 1, 2013, Brother’s Pizza will change its name to Tony’s Pizza.

“But we’re having the same food and the same customer relations we’ve always had,” said Tony Scotto, co-owner of the longtime pizza place.

Nick Scotto, Tony’s cousin-in-law, started Brother’s in 1978. About 12 years ago, Nick brought on Tony as a co-owner.

Earlier this year, Nick wanted Brother’s to move to the Shoppes but Tony wasn’t interested. Nick decided to open his own place—Nick’s Pizza and Pasta—and just recently, he and Tony came to an agreement and parted ways.

Both locations will remain open and Tony has high hopes for Brother’s. He told Cinnaminson Patch this week he hopes the new go-kart facility would help him with business.

“I’m already talking to them,” Tony said.

Nick told Cinnaminson Patch last month there is plenty of business in town for both restaurants; Tony agrees.

“It’s a good thing—for myself and I hope for Nick’s Pizza and Pasta,” Tony said. “He’s going to do OK down there and I’m going to be able to do OK up here.”

Starting Jan. 1, the new phone number for Tony’s Pizza will be 856-829-5474.

In Nick’s Pizza and Pasta news, the “Cheesesteak Lady,” is now working at there.

good luck Tony!

Will Cinnaminson finally allow them to put a big "Tony's Pizza" sign on the building itself???? Most out-of-towners have NO idea it even exists.
Eric December 22, 2012 at 03:48 pm
I doubt it. You'd probably get Minniti complaining that its not proper signage and issuing them a citation for it

Good luck Tony!!

Oh yea but Cinnaminson is business friendly....thats what the mayor says ha ha ha...I really do not think so, with all the empty business's we have on 130, guess we will just buy them all up and say its assessed at a higher value.......

Good luck Tony, your pizza is still the best around !!!!

Changed the phone number in my cell phone. We are big time fans of Brothers and since we live and own 2 businesses at the north end of the township we will continue to go to the now called Tony's. Best pizza, don't change your recipes.

Glad to hear the news. I have been going to brother's since they opened in 1978 and were on the back side of the Clover mall with the back entrance. Best pizza around. I have 5 siblings who all grew up on Brothers and when they come to town this is one of the first places they go. Good luck to both Tony and Nick and may their businesses prosper in 2013.

YAY!...NOw we can relax and enjoy more of the best!

Glad to hear both businesses will be staying open, and I agree - there is definitely room for both in the town! Been patronizing Brother's since it opened and will continue to do so. Haven't been to Nick's yet, but planning on it. Good luck to all!!

Remember—the number doesn't change until the first of the year.

who cares what the name is... as long as I can still go and get my pizza fix ;) Been hooked on it since they were in the back of the mini-mall !! We use to cut school and sports and ride our bikes up there for the best pizza in town. 25 years later still craving the sounds of "slice!"...

Anyone else feel the women at brothers pizza look pissed to even serve you or ring you up? I have never gotten a thank you from them. Reminds me of Mrs Hiller from hillers meats!
chris December 24, 2012 at 12:50 am
LOl, I thought she hated me for years
chris December 24, 2012 at 01:34 am
Yeah remember when they were in the back of the mini mall with Gold Medal Sporting Goods
T Rovson December 24, 2012 at 01:53 pm
Seriously, I don't know them personally, but they were/are the two rudest women I have ever met. I remember my father refused To go in hillers because she never said thank you when you paid. I now do the same at brothers pizza.

T rovson, I agree with you 100%. My patronage at Brothers has seriously declined over the years until I stopped all together because one of them hung up the phone before I finished my order. Went to Nick's though without realizing it was part of Brother's and the food is wonderful and the staff is super friendly and always wish me a good day! But good luck to everyone!

Oh sure, Therese, it is great for you living swell on your 100k pension from Cinnaminson. But it isRead More bad news for us taxpayers who have to work hard to pay for your pension because Harry gave school district employees such generous pensions. Having him on the board is like having the wolf guard the hens

We were totally disappointed at the Palmyra Council Meeting last night. The ordinance requiring theRead More Inspection, Registration, and Licensing of Residential Rental Properties was opposed by many concerned citizens. Concerns were stated and questions asked, but few were answered or addressed! I still do not know if the NJ State code supercedes this ordinance, since no one addressed my concerns. The legality of this ordinance was questioned and it was mentioned that similar laws have been challenged in other towns and invalidated by the NJ courts. Why did the council not form a committee with those landlords that expressed a willingness to work together to come to an acceptable compromise and passage of an ordinance that is legal and for the good of all of Palmya?
Mystery Diner June 18, 2013 at 10:11 pm
I actually agree with most of what you say. If they face a court challenge and lose, they are dumberRead More than I thought. My point is that something has to be done. I feel that inaction is unacceptable. I literally have neighbors moving/trying to move because of 1 or 2 rental properties. Garbage on the lawn. Garbage in the street. Lawn only gets cut twice a year. Broken glass in the street. Multiple cars taking up space in front of homeowner's homes. Junk cars leaking oil in the streets. Broken porches, railings and windows. The drugs. The drugs. They should enforce current codes! The police should do their jobs. I hope that these new rules don't hurt innocent people, but some landlords have shown that they don't give a damn about the community that their "investments" are in.
Phyllis Blackeby June 18, 2013 at 10:26 pm
I only wish that they would use the laws on the books. If 800 violations have been written sinceRead More April, then why do they need to pass this ordinance and have excessive fees and hurt me the small landlord who just spent over $7,000 fixing up my apartment. Palmyra has a large budget deficit, is this ordinance how the Council hopes to remedy the budget problem- $125. at a time?

This is great, we send our kids to school to read write and do math and yet when they have to putRead More things down for writing something for a college admissions we have to send them to professionals for help....So in esscence we are wasting our tax money and just providing teachers with a salary....No wonder the USA is in trouble...If its not on an I phone we cannot do it....Food for thought....
