Cinnaminson Woman to Reopen Riverton Yoga Studio

Lynn Horan will take over for current owner Beth Filla in April.

Yogawood in Riverton will close by the end of next month, but a Cinnaminson woman will take the spot over by the beginning of April.

Lynn Horan, a yoga instructor and student at Yogawood, will be the new owner.

“I just felt like it’s so wonderful there and in a great community and I wanted to see it continue,” Horan said.

Current owner Beth Filla announced in November plans to close the Riverton location and focus on the other studio’s location in Collingswood. Horan stepped in shortly after.

“I’m going to give it a swing,” she said.

The longtime Cinnaminson resident and mother of Catherine, 24, and Brendan, 23, spent a few years in Chicago recently but after moving back, she joined Yogawood last year to practice and teach.

“It’s a really nice yoga community with wonderful teachers and wonderful students,” Horan said.

Right now, she’s working on a website for the spot—which will be called Yogatree—and a schedule. But she wants to reach out to the community with help on that.

“Any studio, you change with the community’s needs,” she said. “So I’m hoping to tap into that and have some ideas be provided by the community.”

Some ideas include a Friday noontime yoga class, a Friday afterwork class and a morning class for parents who drop their kids off at school.

“I have a lot of ideas,” Horan said.

Other ideas for classes include neo yoga, yoga/Pilates mix and classes aimed at maturing bodies or veterans.

Horan will take over April 1.
