The area provides a bevy of quality dining destinations, proving you don’t need to go as far as Philly (or Collingswood or Haddonfield for that matter) to enjoy a romantic dinner for two (or more).

on Main Street Moorestown will offer an expanded list of specials this weekend and through Valentine’s Day week, on top of its regular menu, said owner/chef Mike Picciau.

Among some of the offerings: a branzino, or Mediterranean sea bass, served in a white wine sauce with asparagus, crab meat and diced tomatoes; filet au poivre (spiced with pepper) with brandy cream sauce and jumbo shrimp; and a surf and turf (filet and lobster).

This will be Picciau’s first Valentine’s Day at Thomas’——but he’s expecting a good crowd on Valentine's Day, and they’re always busy on the weekends, he said. So book your reservation now.

And don’t forget to pack your own bottle before you head out, because while , Main Street is still BYO.

Known as one of South Jersey’s best-kept secrets, The Madison in Riverside is offering four-course meals Sunday and on Valentine’s Day Tuesday.

“It’s a really nice menu. We’re really excited about it,” said Christine Patton, entertainment director at The Madison.

It’s $44.95 per person for their Special Sweetheart four-course menu and bottled wine specials, offered Sunday. The three seating times are 4, 6 and 7:30 p.m. Piano music will be featured from 4 to 6:30 p.m. and live entertainment provided by Brian & Deb is scheduled until 9:30 p.m.

“We’re known as one of the most romantic restaurants,” said Patton, who adds that Valentine's Day usually sells out.

So make sure to call ahead and make your reservation at 856-764-4444.

There will also be a special four-course surf and turf dinner with two seatings—6 and 8 p.m—for $64.95. Piano music will be featured from 6-7 p.m. and from 7-10 p.m., To the Max, a popular live band who performed in this summer, will be on stage.

For those stay-at-home sweethearts—whether by choice or by career— in Moorestown has just the thing.

Co-owner Pam Minniti said they’re offering Duet Dinners—a $50 three-course meal for two you can pre-order and pick up whenever you want. You pick the first two courses: Choose between several soups and salads for course one, then select a second course of filet medallions, tilapia, chicken scallopini or penne pasta (plus add lobster, shrimp or crab to any meal for an extra charge). Course three is a dessert sampler.

“We wanted the men that couldn’t get out for Valentine’s Day, or couldn’t get a babysitter,” Minniti explained, “and all they’d have to do is bring it home, heat it up and set it up like they made it themselves.”

She said she and her husband, co-owner and chef Robert Minniti, were inspired to do the Duet Dinners by their own Valentine’s Day tradition of whipping up a meal at home.

Get your orders in ASAP though. She said Saturday is the absolute last-minute deadline to pre-order.
