Pet Valu Grand Opening is for the Dogs (and Cats, Etc.)

Boasting unique features like self-wash stations and veterinary school-trained staff, the pet store opened its latest franchise at the Shoppes at Cinnaminson over the weekend.

Looking for a place where you can buy natural pet products? Sick of dealing with the smell of a wet dog in your home?

Pet Valu's new location at the Shoppes at Cinnaminson may have what you're looking for.

The roughly 3,000-square-foot store, which held its grand opening on Saturday, boasts "a little something for everyone," said company spokeswoman Amy DePaoli, including holistic and natural products, an industry-wide trend that has become one of Pet Valu's major focuses.

"People are starting to feed their pets the way they feed themselves," DePaoli said, noting that the store also carries standard grocery brands.

The store—one of about 100 in the United States, with another 400 in Canada—will hold adoption events every weekend.

One of Pet Valu's more unique features are self-wash stations, where pet owners can come in, tie on an apron, wash their pet, dry them off and walk out—with all the products provided by the store. The service costs $10. Grooming is not available at the Cinnaminson store.

"You come in with a dirty dog, you leave with a clean dog, and we clean up," said DePaoli.

She also pointed out that all Pet Valu employees are trained and certified through online courses at the University of California, Davis, one of the top veterinary schools in the country.

The Cinnaminson Pet Valu is located in the Shoppes at Cinnaminson at 141 Route 130 South, next to ShopRite. The store is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
