Second Housing Lottery Accepting Applications Now

The next round of units are set to open at Camelot.

A second lottery process has been announced for new affordable-housing units opening up in Cinnaminson Harbour.

In April, for 17 new units opening in the Harbour’s newest development—Camelot.

In May, the lottery winners were chosen out of more than 400 applicants.

This fall, 25 more units will be opening and the lottery is back on for those who missed the first round. All applicants who entered in April will be automatically considered for subsequent rounds; there is no need to fill out another application.

“We want to try to get as many Cinnaminson applicants as possible,” said Committeeman Anthony Minniti, township director of economic development.

Minniti said in April he hopes these units would go to the township’s recently graduated, young couples or senior citizens. There is an income range applicants must fall between and a credit check is processed.

Minniti said every time another round of units are built, a lottery will be held. There are 136 affordable housing units in all.

The township is complying with a court-mandated Council on Affordable Housing plan to incorporate affordable units into Cinnaminson. The township recently , the developer, to integrate those units into the complex rather than segregate them. 

Units are one-, two-, or three-bedrooms and all have open floor plans, a private balcony or patio and ample closet space. Rents will range from $510 to $980 a month. Handicapped-accessible units are also available.

Those interested must complete a preliminary application. Qualified applicants will be entered in the lottery. Applicants selected through the lottery will be required to submit documentation and pass a credit check.

Applications will be accepted until Oct. 31. The lottery will be held on Nov. 4.
