The New 7-Eleven Will Open...

Construction is nearing completion on the convenience store at Route 130 and Highland Avenue.

The new 7-Eleven store at the intersection of Route 130 south and Highland Avenue is slated to open Oct. 24, according to a communications official with the popular convenience store.

Scott Drake, of the finance and communications department for 7-Eleven, Inc., said there's still some construction going on at the store, whose address is 407 Route 130 South.

The store is slated to open Oct. 24 with a grand opening event some time in early December.

The store is owned by Lehigh Gas Corporation, a group based in Bethlehem, Pa. It holds partnerships with several gas station companies including Mobil, Hess and Gulf.

The new 7-Eleven will not feature a gas station.

The store is around 3,000 square feet and will hold 18 parking spots. The 7-Eleven at the Route 130 and Riverton Road jug handle will remain open.

This is why I gas up at Sam's. Have been using them since the day they opened and their unbranded gas has never hurt my car.

Why do we need another 7/11? The other one gets robbed enough. We need things to attract the motorists on 130 right now were just a beverage stop on the way to the real entertaining and dining establishments. Why does this township continuously handcuff itself with old standards and outdated codes. Lets get with it!

Some type of site similar to the promenade on rt 73 would be nice, something classy and not attracting riff-raff! Until then bring on the scumbags and illegals!

Seems to me, awhile back, there was 'talk' about putting in sidewalks in any new business starting on Rt. 130....what's happening with that???...Seems that there's lots of talk and not much action or forethought.
Nancy VanTwistern October 12, 2012 at 12:54 am
Great Idea!! But I do believe it is 'too late' for that as there doesn't seem to be any room left. Would be nice if Cinnaminson would have something 'classy' instead of all the fast foodese etc. etc. etc.....

No half way decent establishment would want to be housed here in Cinnanminson, just drive up and down the highway and what do you see ??? Wawa, 2 &-11's ( like one is not enough, gas station after gas station, empty buildings, etc. No way a decent Developer would think twice.

It seems that some of our committee people are intent to create a "downtown Cinnaminson" on rte 130. by adopting an ordinance to install sidewalks on properties fronting rte 130. Can you picture a young mother pushing her baby coach down the sidewalk on "130" with car and truck traffic whizzing by at 50-60 miles an hour . Are they nuts! And another thing there over 40 eating establishments in Cinnaminson when is enough , enough. I live near the Sonic Drive in , since its opening I have yet to see more than 1/4 of their slots filled at any time. I'd hate to be the owner of that fiasco. I would like to see a sign ordinance passed wherein every commercial sign in Cinnaminson must obtain a permit to erect a sign and paying a fee for same on an annual basis , so that there is some control on size , maintenance.

I don't necessarily think they want a downtown for Rt. 130, but I do think they want retail gateways at the edges of the town. Ideally, the Clover area would be good for a "downtown", however, I remember Cherry Hill wanting that for the Garden State Racetrack and couldn't come up with designs/agreement on how to do it so it turned into the huge commercial/residential use it is now.
Good guy 83 October 12, 2012 at 02:21 pm
All 40 eating establishments you talk about are basically pizza or some sort of fast food or italian food. I wanna have the option to not have to drive 5-10 plus miles away to have a decent sit down dinner. Thank goodness for the light rail it gets us to great restaurants in center city!
Ric October 12, 2012 at 02:51 pm
Perhaps you do not follow the news. Record numbers of pedestrians are getting slaughtered walking next to Rt. 130. In fact for a number of years now, the portion of this this highway in Burlington County has been winning most dangerous highway for pedestrians in NJ. To make it clearer to you: we even beat all the highways in the northern industrial half of the state as most dangerous for pedestrians.
That is why the county directed our committee people to require sidewalks. Have you noticed that Delran has recently installed a number of sidewalks? It would be nice if Cinnaminson accomplished the same.

@Good Guy 83. Your family and my family feel the exact same. Zio Tuscany, Maurizo and Due Amici are great restaurants but how much Italian food can you eat?
Nancy VanTwistern October 12, 2012 at 03:44 pm
Hey, how about the Dunkin Doughnuts??? Do you suppose they send all the money earned off of US citizens to from whence they came?? Oh well, the US does have a deversified population........"....bring me your poor.....and all that stuff"...so that's the way it goes....

How can you say the one on riverton road is skeevy? Its one of the cleanest 7-11's around..An it hasn't gotten robbed in quite some time..I agree they should have put something else there..A decent family restaurant would have been nice.
M C October 13, 2012 at 03:03 am
To the person who is complaining the 7-11 on Riverton Road is skeevy and to those who think all 7-11's are run by illegal immigrants have you actually been to the 7-11 on Riverton Road? First of all do you realize how long that store has been standing there so it won't be looking shiny and new like the brand new one on Rte 130 but I will say it is a clean store. I have frequented some brand new stores that aren't kept as clean. I don't feel putting a 7-11 that close to the other one was a brilliant idea but who am I to say. I believe someone is always going to complain about something but at least you will be looking at a new business instead of a closed up business. Which do you choose?
Nancy VanTwistern October 13, 2012 at 01:58 pm
We shop at the 7-11 on Riverton Road frequently AND it is NEVER skeevy. In fact, I frequently see the woman who work there sweeping and keeping all in order. Don't know what that 'person' is bitching about. As for another 7-11 so close... not a good idea as it definitely will take business from the other nearby as is on Rt. 130 and then no need to 'go around' the light etc....don't know why it was allowed????
Nancy VanTwistern October 13, 2012 at 01:59 pm
AGREE worker!!
Ric October 13, 2012 at 02:17 pm
@Nancy. I believe the comment was directed at the 7-11 on Riverton Road as being outdated - like an '80's kitchen. It still works but it lost its luster.
Eric October 13, 2012 at 04:55 pm
You're an idiot. We already have a 7-11 in town. I bet if they put another Walmart in Cinnaminson you would probably think thats a great addition to Rt 130 too. Yeah real genius idea to put another low end retail store thats a magnet for criminals to work there and go there especially across the street from the worst motel in town.
dajoepa75 October 13, 2012 at 05:02 pm
Does anyone remember the article about reconfiguring the traffic flow at Riverton road and Rt 130. Is it possible the new store will eventually be replacing the old one
Eric October 13, 2012 at 05:05 pm
The 7-11 on Riverton Rd is disgusting. It's dirty, smells like stale coffee and cigarettes, and yes some of the people working there (not all) are very skeevy pervs.
Nancy VanTwistern October 13, 2012 at 06:11 pm
I;ll believe it when I see it.......like so many other proposed town jobs or whatever...improvements etc.....
Nancy VanTwistern October 13, 2012 at 06:13 pm
Eric??? What bug got up you??? Your post is entirely inappropriate....ALL the people that have helped me, waited on me or whatever at the 7-11 are good people.. what's with you......sick, bored, bitter???? Get a life
dajoepa75 October 13, 2012 at 06:22 pm
I'm not sure why Patch brings out the worst In our residents and the way we talk to each other. Its almost like this is a therapists couch with everyone lashing out at each other. Its an article about a convenience store and you talk like someone is attacking your family. This isnt the biggest issue In the world.
John October 13, 2012 at 06:44 pm
@ dajoepa75 your right but in other articles on the patch U have made some errors also....and this is not a couch its just people talking and everyone has there oppinions

Welcome to the internet
chris October 13, 2012 at 08:19 pm
Thats weird Eric, every time I go thier for something the store is quite clean and the staff is always extremely courteous. That store as been a part of Cinnaminson as long as I can remember and it's kinda sad you would say something about the people who work there because thier older and might have a tatoo.
Honey Boo Boo October 15, 2012 at 04:43 pm
I love 7-11 for two reasons.Slurpee's and rolling papers
Mark November 6, 2012 at 12:52 pm
October 24 has come and gone. Do we know when the "coming soon" signs will be coming down and the "grand opening" signs will be going up? Seems to be a trend here with businesses unable to open when planned?

Mark—I have calls in. Thanks.

This is great, we send our kids to school to read write and do math and yet when they have to putRead More things down for writing something for a college admissions we have to send them to professionals for help....So in esscence we are wasting our tax money and just providing teachers with a salary....No wonder the USA is in trouble...If its not on an I phone we cannot do it....Food for thought....
