Wedding Photos Available for Couples Scammed by Cinna Photographer

The county consumer affairs department is looking for couples seeking their wedding photographs.

Married couples from all over South Jersey may have a chance to salvage some of their missing wedding photos after files from a Cinnaminson-based photographer who is serving time for fraud have been recovered.

Jack Holton, who operated Renaissance Photography on Route 130 in Cinnaminson in the mid-2000s, is currently serving a three-year prison term for fraud after not delivering on contracted wedding photographs.

Holton surrendered dozens of CDs of wedding photos, and now officials from county consumer affairs are trying to find the rightful owners.

“We have a lot of stuff and no real way of identifying who the people are,” said Joe Threston, of the Burlington County Office of Consumer Affairs.

Between 2002 and 2009, consumer affairs received more than 80 phone calls accusing Holton of non-delivery of wedding photos and albums and non-performance of contracted services.

Each theft ranged in the amount of $800 to $6,600, said officials.

“There were a whole lot of unhappy people who didn’t get what they wanted,” said Threston. “We investigated it and ultimately referred it to the prosecutor’s office.”

In January 2010, Holton was sentenced to three years for theft by failure to make required disposition of property.

After the sentencing, Threston said a lot of people did get their photographs, but there are still dozens of CDs unaccounted for. They are currently being housed at the county department of consumer affairs in Westampton.

Holton’s clients, Threston said, were from all over South Jersey and Philadelphia—some even as far as North Jersey.

Prior to Holton’s business in Cinnaminson, he operated Renaissance Photography on Broad Street in Palmyra. After he left his Cinnaminson location, he opened as Weddings Unlimited in Medford.

Anyone who had entered into an agreement for photography with Holton at any of his locations and never received their photographs should contact consumer affairs at 609-265-5054.
