When Will District 611 Reopen?
Expect a similar menu and atmosphere when the restaurant reopens—hopefully early this fall, according to developer Jim Brandenburger.
Miss District 611's take on New American cuisine? You might not have to wait long to enjoy it again.
The new-look District 611 could open as soon as Sept. 1, if developer Jim Brandenburger—who opened the original restaurant on Broad Street in Riverton back in Nov. 2012, along with a trio of Stephen Starr alumni—has his way. The Starr trio have since moved on—they closed the restaurant in May—but in a conversation with Patch Monday, Brandenburger said he was working with a group of new partners on rebranding the restaurant.
He said the new restaurant will still be called District 611 and feature a very similar menu and look to the original eatery.
"What worked well, we're going to keep," said Brandenburger. "And we'll improve on what didn't."
He said many of the same employees are expected to return to the restaurant as well.
Perhaps the most noticeable change will be a more kid-friendly atmosphere, beginning with the menu, explained Brandenburger, who said he was meeting with a focus group this coming Sunday to go over the new menu.
He hopes to open the new restaurant around Sept. 1, though that date is far from set in stone.
As for those old District 611 gift cards you've been holding onto, Brandenburger said they will "certainly" be honored once the restaurant reopens. He was, however, unable to say whether refunds would be offered.
