And We're Off!!

After a pleasant and polite reorganization meeting last night (translation: I didn't get up to speak and ruin the mood), it's time to get to work. Congratulations to everyone sworn in—and WOW! Did that wonderful little girl nail the National Anthem or what? She was better than alot of professionals I've heard lately! What a treat it was to hear her!

Now back to that get to work thing: There's a planning board meeting tonight, zoning board Wednesday night, and a sewerage authority meeting on Thursday. Then, next Tuesday, January 17th is the second public hearing on the township's application to the state Green Acres program to have the Cinnaminson Home property removed from the ROSI list.

I plan on going to all of these meetings, as well as the next township committee meeting. I would really like to have this whole environmental commission situation worked out. I am confused by the wording of the township ordinance 525-173 (environmental commission) and Chapter 71 (Open Space) of the code when compared with N.J.S.A.40:55D-27. Before anyone tells me that this isn't the place for bringing this up: Please understand that I am not asking for an answer or clarification here on this blog post. I am just telling you about questions I am going to ask of the appropriate people at the appropriate meetings. My personal opinion is that the township ordinance should match the NJ statute, and I will ask why they prefer "open space committee" to "environmental commission". From a marketing point of view, I would personally want to take advantage of the positive vibe that "environmental" gives off these days, as opposed to the negative impression that could occur by choosing to use "open space" instead of environmental. Makes me wonder why. But as I said, I will ask my questions in the proper forum - no one should feel compelled to explain here

I hope to see more of you at some or all of these meetings, but most definitely want everyone to come out to the public hearing on the 17th!
