Applications Being Accepted for Affordable Housing Units

Individuals have this month to apply for new housing in Cinnaminson.

Applications are now being accepted for new, affordable housing apartment units in the Cinnaminson Harbour.

Units, consisting of one, two or three bedrooms, will be available to those who quality at the Camelot at Cinnaminson in the harbour.

“We have an abundance of recent grads, young couples, seniors who live in Cinnaminson who want to remain here,” said Committeeman Anthony Minniti, director of economic development. “We want to make sure we reach out to them to let them know these apartments are available.”

Out of the 400 apartments being constructed, 151 are certified affordable housing. Individuals have until the end of the month to get applications in.

Rent for the units range from $493 to $946 a month. In order to be eligible for a unit, individuals must meet certain income guidelines as determined by the New Jersey Council on Affordable Housing.

They are: $43,848 for a one-person household; $50,112 for a two-person household; $56,376 for a three-person household; and $62,640 for a four-person household.

The lots have open floor plans, a private balcony or patio, and ample closet space.

“We’re looking to really educate our residents that this opportunity exists and to get their applications in if they qualify,” Minniti said.

Interested applicants must complete a preliminary application and return it to Triad Associates, the administrative agent qualifying and assisting possible renters.

Applications can be found at the Cinnaimnson Harbour Rental Office at 1601 Broad St.; the Cinnaminson Township Municipal Building at 1621 Riverton Rd.; the Cinnaminson Library at 1619 Riverton Rd.; and here.

The deadline to file is April 30 and the lottery will be held May 4 at 2 p.m. at the municipal building.
