Why Go: Get your toes tapping, bring out your jazz hands or do whatever you do in Zumba class at Performance Studio’s open house. You can talk to staff members and check out summer classes, which include ballet, tap, jazz, Zumba, acting, hip-hop and more. Classes are for ages 2 through adult, and if you sign up for classes during the open house, you’ll get a $10 discount. Be sure to take part in the free classes offered Saturday: hip-hop at 11:30 a.m. for ages 8-18, creative movement at 12:15 p.m. for ages 2-7 and Zumba at 1 p.m. for teens and adults.

Why Go: Help the Pompeston Creek Watershed Association keep Riverton Park’s creek clean, just in time for the Fourth of July festivities. Volunteers will pick up trash, remove invasive species and clear debris. Tools and gloves will be provided.

Independence Day Breakfast Car Show
Where/When: Silver Diner, 2131 Route 38, Cherry Hill. July 3, 8 a.m.
Why Go: Pore over all makes and models of cars at a show presented by the Delaware Valley Old Goat Club. The first 200 people get a free T-shirt. And, when you’re done with the show, pop into the Silver Diner for a stack of pancakes or other diner food.
Price: Free to attend, $20 to enter a car
Haddonfield First Fridays
Where/When: Kings Highway East, Haddonfield. July 1, 5-8 p.m.
Why Go: Stroll Haddonfield’s business district to the sounds of live music, sights of local artists’ work and tastes of special dining deals. Many businesses have extended shopping hours for the monthly event.

Wawa Welcome America Festival
Where/When: Benjamin Franklin Parkway. June 30-July 4. Check schedule for specific events.
Why Go: Wish America a happy birthday with this annual Philadelphia celebration. From outdoor movies, photo exhibit, Chinatown block party and all-you-can-eat ice cream party, this weekend has plenty of fun on tap. Of course, it all leads up to the big finish: the Philly Fourth of July Jam and Grand Finale Fireworks on July 4, 7-10 p.m., on the Ben Franklin Parkway.
