Historic Riverton Criterium Brings Out Crowds

Organizer Carlos Rogers said this year's race—which benefits the Riverton Fire Company—was another success.

The third annual Historic Riverton Criterium was another unqualified success, according to organizer Carlos Rogers, who said the event seemed to draw more spectators and as much money as the two previous year's bike races.

Rogers measured the event's success in several ways: He said there were more parties along the race route; consistently long lines at the two food trucks—Cupcakes2GoGo and Mary's Mobile Meals (new this year); and they sold out of T-shirts, which should help organizers meet, if not exceed, last year's fundraising total of $3,000.

Proceeds from this year's Criterium will benefit the Riverton Fire Company.

The bike race, of course, was the highlight of the event, and Rogers said it was once again highly competitive.

"The riders put on a very great show. It was good for the town to see," he said.
