Know an Outstanding Woman?

The Burlington County Advisory Council on Women is accepting nominations for its annual Outstanding Women Awards. Read on to find out how to nominate someone.

The Burlington County Advisory Council on Women is now accepting nominations for the 2013 Outstanding Women of Burlington County Awards.

“There are so many incredible women in Burlington County that demonstrate leadership and excellence every day,” said Burlington County Freeholder Mary Ann O’Brien. “These awards are just one small way to acknowledge these women and the outstanding things they do for the community.”

To be eligible for the award, nominees must have lived or worked in Burlington County for at least one year. Nominees can be recognized in categories including: Education; Government, Public Service or Volunteerism; Journalism, Arts or Entertainment; Law, Business or Entrepreneur; Medicine or Health Service, and Social Service.

The council is looking for women who have made significant contributions in their chosen field, as well as having demonstrated their support of women in the community.

The awards are sponsored by the Advisory Council on Women and the Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders. The deadline to submit a nomination is 5 p.m., Nov. 30. 

Winners will be honored at the annual Outstanding Women of Burlington County awards dinner on Thursday, March 28, at The Merion in Cinnaminson.
