Nor'Easter to Hit South Jersey Sunday

The National Weather Service is advising that the volume of rain expected could flood low-lying areas and inland waterways in our area.

If an average storm typically leaves water in your basement, you might want to have some buckets ready Sunday.

"All of the ingredients for heavy rain are coming together for much of the area," reads a report from the National Weather Service.

In addition to high winds, the forecast calls for rainfall approaching 2 to 3.5 inches total in Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.

That volume could prove to be too much for streams and small rivers, which will be on flood watch into Monday morning.

Sunday also marks the 3rd annual Walk the Walk, a walk from Pompeston Park in Moorestown to Riverton Memorial park. The event, sponsored by the Pompeston Creek Watershed Association, is on rain or shine said group president Cindy Pierson.
