Tech Tips for Picking a Recipe

What are you going to cook for your next party? These tech tips will help you pick the right recipe for any occasion.

Summer’s in full swing, and there’s no better time to throw a party.

Unfortunately, throwing a party involves cooking some food for your guests to ensure that they don’t go hungry, and leave your party for a better one with a buffet. If you want to keep your guests well fed, but you don’t know what to make, we have some tech tips to help you pick the right recipe for any occasion.

If you own an iPad, a Galaxy Tablet, or even a Nook, you already havea handy kitchen helper in your home. Each of those devices can use the Epicurious app, which lets you find a recipe based on whatever you happen to be in the mood for.

You can filter recipe suggestions by course, season, dietary considerations, type of dish, or even the season of the occasion you’re cooking for.

So, if you’re looking for an Atkins friendly dinner dish to serve at a summer event, Epicurious has you covered. That’s just one example–the app has plenty of recipes and sorting options to suit any occasion.

You’re probably thinking something along the lines of “That’s great, but I don’t want to keep picking up my iPad while I’m cooking–it’ll get dirty."

There’s a simple solution to that problem; just pick up an Arkonportable fold up stand for your tablet. This stand will accommodate aniPad, Galaxy, Nook or just about any other tablet you might own.

Just open the recipe, and sit your tablet on this stand, and you’ll be able to keep checking the recipe without having to touch the tablet.

If you’re the type of chef who prefers to plan a meal around ingredients you already have on hand, LG has the refrigerator for you. LG’s smart fridge will suggest recipes for you based on the food you’ve put in it.

Just scan in the food as you put it in the fridge, and when you’re looking for a recipe, just check the built in touch screen on the front of the fridge for suggestions. Your refrigerator will check the Internet for recipes matching the ingredients you have, and it will make suggestions accordingly.

The smart fridge is expected to hit store shelves by the end of the year, and it should cost around $3,000. Hey, we said it was a smart fridge, not a cheap fridge.

Picking a recipe for your next get together can be a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be if you keep these tools in mind. Using these tech tips, you’ll be ready for any occasion with the right recipe.
