Volunteers Needed for Saturday Park Cleanup

The Willingboro Lakes Nature Preserve will be beautified this weekend.

Volunteers are still needed to help clean up clean up Willingboro Lakes Nature Preserve in Willingboro, Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. 

This 105-acre preserve, in Willingboro, is the latest addition to the county parks system. Two lakes, walking trails, wildlife and waterfowl make it a popular place for bird watching and fishing. 

Individuals, families, students and groups are encouraged to come out and get to know the park while helping to make sure this park stays beautiful for everyone to enjoy. Volunteers with their own kayak or canoe are invited to paddle the lakes and help retrieve litter from along the shoreline.

Volunteers are advised to wear long pants, long sleeved shirts, sturdy shoes and socks. Gloves and bags will be provided, and participants can receive certificates for community service. Severe weather conditions will cancel the event.

“Burlington County residents care about our community and our parks,” said Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio in a recent release. “It is great to see so many people coming to the parks and working together to keep our community green.”

Willingboro Lakes Nature Preserve is located on the northbound side of Route 130, just beyond the Bridgeboro Road intersection.
