Want to Help Local Students in Need?

A Delran woman has organized a school supply drive for local families. Read on to find out where you can donate.

A Delran woman is spearheading a school supply drive for local families in need of support.

Laura Kulinski said she became aware of the need after witnessing students at Millbridge Elementary—where her son attends preschool—come to school without supplies.

"It's heartbreaking," she said. "They need the stuff so they can succeed ... (I) figured the easiest solution was to start a drive right here in town to help them.”

Kulinski connected with Providence House, a nonprofit based in Delran that provides services to victims of domestic violence and their children, to identify those most in need.

The drive is accepting: notebooks, marble composition books, pencils, pens, dry erase markers, crayons, colored pencils, glue sticks, highlighters, folders and index cards, as well as new and gently used school bags and lunch totes.

“Building a community starts with good people with great projects” said Councilwoman Lona Pangia, who has endorsed and joined Kulinski’s drive. “I joined Laura in this endeavor because she is bringing light to our local families that are in need of support."
