Committee Meeting, Outdoor Halloween Movie Highlight Week Ahead

Also, Cinnaminson High School alumni gather and the Pompeston Creek Watershed Association celebrates its 50th anniversary this weekend.

Township committee will hold its regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the municipal building (1621 Riverton Road). An agenda for the meeting was not available at the end of last week.

On Tuesday, Westfield Friends School will hold an open house from 10-11:30 a.m. for prospective students and their parents. Guests are invited to take a tour of the school and meet with the faculty and headmaster, as well as parents and student ambassadors. Westfield Friends will also hold its annual Fun Fall Festival on Sunday. The festivities—which include the annual kids vs. parents hockey and rugby games, face painting and apple bobbing—kick off at 2 p.m.

The Cinnaminson High School Alumni Association will hold its annual “homecoming weekend” event at Temple Sinai Saturday, featuring music from South Jersey band Mid-Life Crisis, with light snacks and various wines, beers and spirits from “all over the world.” Tickets are $25 per person in advance, $30 at the door. The event starts at 7:30 p.m.

If you looking to do something a little quirkier on Saturday night, "Time Warp" over to the band shell in Palmyra (near the community center) for a free outdoor showing of the Halloween classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Guests are encouraged to bring props and come in costume. The movie starts at 10 p.m.

And on Sunday, the Pompeston Creek Watershed Association celebrates 50 years of stewardship at Riverton Park, starting at 1:30 p.m. Enjoy a scavenger hunt, snacks, displays of live creek critters, an appearance by the “Turtle Lady” and other exhibits. The festivities continue at the Porch Club of Riverton from 4-6 p.m. with raffles, prizes, videos, and light fare. The Porch Club is located at Fourth and Howard streets in Riverton.
