Keep 'em separate - Don't store your pet's medications/supplements in the same place that you store yours

Hello, Patch Pet Lovers!

Does your beloved pet take medications?  How about you or any of your family members… supplements, vitamins?  Chances are, you keep them all in the same spot so you remember to give everyone their scheduled doses.  Chances are, you may just accidentally poison your pet!  

An important message by the Preventive Vet:

Don't store your pet's medications/supplements in the same place that you store yours

Sadly, it's not uncommon for people to accidentally poison their own pets by inadvertently giving them medications intended for a human member of the family, rather than the ones meant for the pet.

We've all been there before - giving our pets their daily medications/supplements either shortly after just waking up ourselves or late at night just before going to sleep. You're tired, maybe it's still dark out, and you've got 20,000 other things on your mind.

This is a situation ripe with potential for medication mix-ups. Some of which can have truly devastating results.

While I can't provide you with an easy solution to your sleep-deprivation or ever-growing to-do list, I can give you an easy tip to minimize the risk of such a situation as described above... keep your medications/supplements and those intended for your pets in separate drawers, cabinets, or other locations.

By keeping them in separate locations you'll greatly decrease the likelihood of an inadvertent mix up - regardless of how tired you are! Give it a try and see if you don't agree.
